I usually get my stuff from TQ Hobbies online. Usually takes 2 to 3 days shipping.

The d4 in the m05 is really good!  We have had good luck with those and the reedy also.  The reedy however needs to be pulled apart and the bearings degreased,  the stuff they use is sooooo thick and slow!

M05 is still available in standard kit form or if you want to be spendy, the M05v2R just came out and includes a bunch of upgrades. Otherwise, the standard M05v2 would do just fine.
What's the best place to buy a kit?

Hellajoe:

sounds fun! Would be interesting to know what the top 3 winners were using for motors. None of my motors would last more than 9 minutes of hard racing.

I will try to get to P1 for some TCS Mini racing soon.  I think WSR is spoiling me with just a 15 minute drive to Fremont.

MOTORS:
Use an R1, Killshot, Speed Passion.

Use any of these motors or other tuners variants. These have very high RPM's and have tick marks on the can that allows over 50' timing. With gearing at a 5.86 you need that speed especially at WSR.  According to the rules you cannot go past the manufacturers timing marks on the can.  The motors above can go well beyond 50' timing with the hash marks.

You will be fast!

To clarify the mini class will only consist of 2wd only? Or is the 4wd cars going to race the same class and are they considered mini? I know tcs rules state M-0 cars is considered the mini class! And are the cars kits still being made available by tamiya?  I've only found them discontinued!

If you have a Ta03 ball diff, M05 ball diff, or gear diff.  I will be at WSR this Saturday and I will show you exactly what to do with them so that they will perform like a spool, but still have diff action.  This will be your most important setup piece and will be TCS legal.

If you have the M05 vII Pro or R.

You must seal your chassis in two other areas. I used black electrical tape to seal 1) underneath the motor area 2) On the right chassis half right along the heatsink area and along the battery strap(in the photo underneath the long steering link)

Pulling up an old thread.  It's time.

Let's get this rolling again.  There is an interest at WSR by Pole Position now so bring them out for practice day on April 16th.  I haven't been to this track yet but they race 1/5th scale on it so think Massive track with a Mini.  Put those RPM motors in and have some fun!!!
