I ran nitro for many many years! I went electric and no regrets! You stated part of my issue with nitro, depending on a pit man or lack of. Other part is more parts and tuning motor, clutch, many burned glow plugs and fuel. Glow igniter starter box receiver pack. The list goes on. Not only all that but a $250 to $500 motor and pipe. Just my own preference on nitro. What I really miss is 8 scale on road nitro. The most fun racing ever!

ya I and Frank will be there.

And what is up with NITRO at NorCal we are not in the series only the E-Guys?? What's up? This is not only at norCal but at DRC also. This is to bad I know that nitro is a bit harder to get a grip on. and maybe most of you E-guys don't get it or are to lazy to do so. I know  you have to know how to tune and and need a pit guy but that is 1/2 the fun you get longer mains and it's a team not just you for the win. just poking fun but would like to know.

If I can get the batteries wedged into the X-ray K2RC conversion I will bring it sat. Their idea of a kit involves a dremel and drill hahahaha

Once we have the surface done right, it'll blue groove in fairly quickly (1 race day should easily do it). That should happen prior to this series, and will include fixing the cracked areas as well as making sure there aren't stones in the 10th scale line. If you remember how the track was during last years Kings once it got worn in, that's about what we're aiming for with this resurface.

I think most will agree that the surface was pretty good at the end of last season. The surface hasn't been prepped yet because they were waiting for the weather to settle down. Now that the rainy season is behind us they should be able to prep (sugar) it and keep it up.

Its not tough for a 2wd car at all. If the track was in optimal condition. The layout is not the issue here.

+1 Remember both 1/10 and 1/8 share the same track. Conditions should not cater to one or the other. Should be optimal for both.

Also what fields more of a turnout? 8th or 10th scale?

Have you ever seen a true blue groove? Not sure norcal has one yet. Its very dusty.

Gotta agree, outdoor track is fine. Sure, a bit tougher for 2WD guys but can't expect it to have same conditions as indoor. Still quite a bit of small rocks out there though that needs to get blown away. A big rock in the track caused a few 1/8th buggy crashes last race I was at.

You made my point Nicholas. The track is great for heavy 4wd 1/8 buggies or SC's, but for 1/10 buggies especially 2wd its a complete handful. Remember there are other options as far as offroad racing in northern cali. If you want entries at your track, you need to build a quality track and then maintain it.

don't think so, with the track getting blue grooved now, it's much easier to have fun now. (when it's dusty, out of the racing line may mean 1s added to your lap time, by trying to drift back, tried the track last Sunday, grip is much better and so much fun.)

It's a bit boring for 17.5t buggy, maybe a bit tricky for 2wd buggy (gonna try it this weekend), but for 4wd SC and 1/8 buggy, fantastic.

----

Last night's sportsman 17.5t buggy a-main. Great fight begin at 1:35.

Outdoor track needs new dirt! You can go out there and put lipstick on a pig, but all you end up with is a pig wearing lipstick! Look at Delta: If you build it right, they will come! I know there is a lot of willing volunteers, but track needs new dirt and heavy equipment to redo layout.

I disagree 100 percent. I have seen points guys getting upset at non points guys because of just that " Dude im in the point series and you ruined my race. You are not in the point series, WTF" "You cost me a first place trophy!" Etc Etc.

I have heard and seen this on several occasions. If you are going to run a points series. Why not alternate weeks. Like first and third saturday of the month. Not every Saturday for 6 weeks in a row. That allows those guys that can't book 6 saturdays in a row to run a points race compete. As well as guys that don't want to interfere with points guys to get in a good old fashioned club race.

That's great Roger! I definitely need to get out to practice tomorrow afternoon. It sounds like there's going to be a big turnout for ebuggy.

Bogey, I was on the side of running it dry, mainly because it dried out so quick anyway. The track went from sticky mud to bone dry in about 3 heats. I'm looking forward to a little sugar.

If you are just showing up to race, a race being series race or a club race doesn't seem to make much difference. You could just ignore it all together, but for those who want something else to pay attention to, it can be fun racing for points.

Also who will be sugaring and prepping the outdoor track? Sugar is a touchy technique. If its not done correctly it can turn a good track into a not so good track.

The last time I raced at norcal there seemed to be a disagreement on how the tracked will be prepped. One side leaned on the watering, the other leaned on the sweeping and blowing the track off?

Is norcal going to have anymore just regular club races or is everything going to be a series race? This is like the 10th series in a row. Series races are nice and all but they loose their luster after you do so many.
