This is why you but a $200 not a $600 radio. Your driving skills dont know the difference between the two, but your wallet does...

To have that much stuff go wrong is unheard of. Not to say it couldn't happen though. What went first? Is it possible that one thing knocked out there others?

At least all those brands have service, and Tekin's is actually pretty good. At least it wasn't a radiopost, my servo went in for replacement early during last year's season and I'm still waiting with no communication from them.

I refuse to buy a new radio. Let me recap. I bought a $600 airtronics radio it fails, buy a new airtronics servo it fails, but a new tekin RS esc it fails. I can't bring any of it back to NorCal. I'm sure I have to send it all back to the manufacturers. All within a month.

Quality control sucks.

Won't be racing for awhile. My new airtronics m12 radio is not working. Not even 3 months old. $600 for a freaking paper weight. Not to mention a new airtronics servo that worked onetime. I would like to shove the servo up the radios @@@.

Freaking pissed.

Wow, what a day.   Thanks for all the help moving the loop today gentlemen.   That went quick.   Thanks for your patience today.

It was nice to see 4x4 SC trucks streach their legs a bit.   The Track Record is 21.82 by Ken Johns in this class.  Nice.  The class on this track makes me want to get one.   Also good to see Mod outdo 17.5 in the buggy category.

Hah-ha Chris, we'll see how it goes.

Kev says the track is going to be run wet tomorrow.   He also says HoleShots will be the tire of choice.  M3 or M4 compounds.

"It'll be general open practice until it becomes a problem, which should take about half hour."

Eric, you're such an optimist. :^)

I think the big key is that under no circumstances do you stop on the straight (especially at the end of it, thinking you'll walk down and pick up your car off of the end). Use pit lane or drive off of the end slowly when nobody is behind you.

If that simple rule is followed, it isn't that bad having 8th and 10th on it at the same time (I've been both in shared practice). Hitting something parked near the end of the straight though is all bad news for everybody involved (which I've also done when an 8th scale SC was parked sideways and not called).

Fortunately though, there are 2 major sections where 8th and 10th split (at least as I understood the layout when I looked), so it really shouldn't be that bad most of the time for anybody, even if it is shared. Seasoned people know to go slow and pass carefully when new folks are driving ahead of them, and now we have more than one path to be able to go around and a wider lane than we did inside too.

I intend to be there running eBuggy (thanks to Chris for bailing me out with a spare part) and hope to see KJ out too.

Gates open at 8:00am tomorrow morning.   It'll be general open practice until it becomes a problem, which should take about half hour.   Controlled practice is 30 minutes 1/8th, 30 minutes 1/10th, if and when it comes to it.  Nitro cars can go loud at 9:00 am as always.

Most 1/8th scales will be at the CVR this weekend. Norcal knows its not safe running combo practice. Hope Kevin J shows up to enjoy his new layout! The outdoor track will be a great training grounds for the Nats and Worlds this year. Indoor season is so over.

At a minimum please separate the 1/8th scales/4wd SCT from the slower 1/10th classes. It's really not any fun to be on opposite ends of that spectrum when they are on the track together.

real newbie/sportsman practice indoors~ basher may go outdoors, but with those 1/8 trashing around, they may want to go to the bash pit then...

Also, what's the track surface condition? is that going to be blue groove? or sandy and dusty? I'm planning to go to the Saturday's race, but don't know what tire to use there? probably also deciding use 17.5t or Mod 2wd buggy...

MiniMod.. thats easy for your to say.. but we'll have a bunch of newbies that have been coming to norcal over the winter..

I'm sure you would not like it if a newbie got it your way and broke your car. nor would any of you experience drivers hold back from yelling at a newbie/sportsman ok..make everyone feel welcome and get to know the track..

Badboy

It's now how you start..It's how you finish!

How bout controlled 8th scale and 10th scale. Getting onto the straight with a 10th scale as an E-Buggys rippin down the striaght = bad news.

What if there are 40 guys on the stand as well? Some sort of control would be nice.

It's such a big track, controlled won't be needed.
