Anybody bringing 8th scale vehicles this Sunday? It's been dead lately. I remember when I started this hobby earlier this year that there are more 8th scales folks out there and even more nitro cars than electric during practice days.

Also, any plans on changing the 1/8 side to more of a 1/8 track like how it was b4? It looks like there's a good amount of unused space on the 1/8 side.

thanks.

Track has been repaired in areas and will be ideal for this weekends events. Also the Crazy Quad is now an easy Triple after this mornings repair and should make things more fun and not so technical.

I would have paid someone to tell me about diffs. My first year I drove around with locked diffs only because I didn't know any better.

I think alot of people quit the hobby due to frustration and cost concerns. Alot of the time I overhear conversations regarding setup, racing, etc. Most of the time, they are wrong in my opinion....in fact I know they are wrong. Why not pay someone more experience and save yourself perhaps YEARS of learning. This is sounding more and more like a infomercial for the Aaron Biner R/C Racing Academy.

Seems like this conversation is going in the right direction if all are serious.   I think if the club level started it than maybe manufactures could donate time and some money.

NorCal makes money by charging for track use and selling parts and kits.   In think maybe they could charge a fee for weekend clinic.   Could even sell a series of weekends over several months.    Local fast guys could get some compensation for helping to feed there passion.   The idea would be that everyone wins.  One fast guy could be assigned a number of drivers and everyone would get one on one.   This would help to keep it affordable for the average racer as cost would be spread over more drivers.   I have attended several clinics such as Bondurant and this is how they do it.   The are also sponsored by manufactures.

Manufactures makes more money because as people progress in the sport they tend to spend more money.  While financial times are still a dampener on our sport, I feel that this will shake out in a couple of years and the one who is ready will be able to recoup investments made now.

I think most manufactures realize this and is why they are still spending, although with more discretion.

Dont patch the track. You become a better driver if you race on a bumpy track. Every signle big race that i have gone to the tracks are bumpy.

That's great Matt. The track was pretty blown out for the last race.

Bring your kids! It was really cool seeing 5 boys racing together last time.

Yes...patching the track will be essential to teaching people how to drive, etc. It's gonna be hard to teach on a blown out track. Much appreciated.

That's a interesting thought. What would it be worth for 1 on 1 r/c training? What hourly wage is that worth? How many hours should the minimum be?

I thought about opening my own r/c academy. I could teach a class for beginners and newbees. It would move around from track to track. I could have a white board, Silibus, etc. Then 1 time every 6 months we would pay a world level pro to come in for a super r/c class. Imagine if Tebo or Maifield came in for 1 day class? How many people would sign up for that?
