wow, I have had that happen to me once @ delta but I was able to shut it off fairly quick. Yikes!

Bummer about the practice time. Guess the people that came to practice this week will have a nice advantage!

there was a hole in a hose. when jon charged the hose, it gushed. i'm not talking about a pin hole. when i saw the water coming out of the hose, i thought it was coming out of the nozzle. there was that much water coming out. the valve to the hose (fire hydrant) is pretty far away so in the time it took to realize the thing was gushing and then to run back out to the hydrant, a ton of water had already come out.

should be fine for tomorrow.

I have to agree.....   last weekend we ran on the new layout for the first time.   I got there pretty early  and from the time I got there to the time i left  Kevin was working hard on the track.

It's not just that he spent all day buliding and prepping he also  stood there and watched every single race.  He was making sure things were flowing well,  also he spent alot of time on the stand asking people for input.

Big props to Kevin for building  the baddest 1/8 scale track i've ever seen in northern california.

Well said ABR.

If I were an outsider reading this thread, I would think there are serious problems at Norcal with all the complaining going on lately (not to mention the other recent threads where there was a lot of bad blood between local racers).

Fortunately, I know that the reality is that NORCAL RULES and 99% of the people go there truly appreciate it and would be devastated if Norcal ever shut down.

So to KJ, Eric and the Norcal staff, I say thank you and keep up your excellent and tireless work!

Norcal is running one of the biggest RC productions seen on the planet. Please somebody tell me where more racing can be found in one place. With that comes all kinds of situations and short falls. Doesnt mean they are not trying but look at their customer base. I would like to take a minute and congradulate them on their great success and constant upgrades. Kevin cares more about us than he does his own self. Constant back breaking work and forever optimistic. Then theres Eric dealing with situations that dwarf this daytime drama. These guys got their work cut out for them and always keep it on the inside, Do you ever see them complain on here...not! Suggestions are best done in person for best results.

Just to quickly clarify...I wouldn't want to pit near the compressor either. I pitted next to it when the big red was going and my ears rang all day.

The little blue was only taken home because my wife had a leaky tire, not because I was angry or anything. It'll be back soon and if someone wants to stick it in a different corner or in a box of package foam or encase it in concrete to reduce the noise...fine by me I am not emotional attached to it.

LOL I think most would agree that posting up here whether the track is open on any given day is not a monumental task.  But it is when you have so many things going on.  I obviously don't work at Norcal but I do work at an R/C Store and days fly by so fast...this is besides the point though.

When I come down to Norcal or visit other tracks I talk to someone the day before or if things look sketchy I'll get a hold of someone before I drive there.  I know a guy that never sleeps and always seems to know what's going on with all the tracks.

The point is... -->I<-- take steps to ensure that I will be able to race and have a pit spot.

For the record-complaining about having an air compressor on site is a line I personally would never cross.  I think that's awesome that you brought it out there.

You drive 2 1/2 hours one-way and have no expectation of the facility you are driving too being open? I'm sorry, but I find that a little difficult to believe.

I know exactly how good I have it being relatively close to NorCal, which is why I help out whenever possible and do things like bring a loud obnoxious compressor when the house compressor has failed.

Another thing I do is make suggestions like 'please turn on the loop during practice, customers will appreciate it, spend more time on the track practicing, break more parts, buy more parts and also likely buy a transponder and want to race someday'

And yes, sometimes suggestions do come in the form of a rant as in yesterday. I'm human.

Eric made a comment to me one day that was something to the effect of 'no track in the bay area has ever survived'

Well, I'd like to see this one survive which is why I purchase the bulk of my parts there, try to help out whenever possible, make suggestions and also try to post my pictures wherever possible to increase awareness of the facility.

I really do not think that asking one of the guys behind the counter to post up when they know the track is closed is the monumental task that some are making it out to be.
