I plan to.  I just have not raced anything off road yet.  I don't know if I will like it.  I got two stock motors.  I'm going to go through those and decide from there.

No.Must be specific to the car you are running.

At that point,if you switching between brands and hopping up stuff, why not just go all the way and run open?Get a BL system and run open.

Really?

can you swap between the RTR vehicles?  Example:  Can I run blitz shocks on a slash?

Just to be clear, does "Aftermarket parts are allowed that are specific to the chassis ran" mean that we can put on any option we want on the car.  For example: protrac suspension, lcg chassis on the Slash?

That is awesome John! If your post can be placed on this site under Race Schedule, that will be good since it will have a permanent home that is easy to locate.

One comment: >>Stock CORR: Batteries allowed are 6 cell nimh/2s Lipo.

You might want to consider allowing 7-cell batteries. The new Slash 2wd 2.4 ghz are now shipped with a Traxxas 7-cell NIMH. 4wd gets shipped this way too. They are not as powerful as the 40-50c lipos that most race with. But they are OE spec and may have a chance unlike the 6-cell Nimhs.

Stock CORR Class.

Stock CORR Class will consist of stock rtr vehicles.2wd vehicles only.Aftermarket parts are allowed that are specific to the chassis ran.Tires are open to tires which must conform to CORR/Shortcourse standards and the allowance of swapping of motors between vehicles of different manufacturers of SC vehicles i.e. you can run a traxxas SC motor in a SC10 RTR and visa versa. No aftermarket motors and all motors must be clearly labeled as SC motor from any of the various manufacturers of SC Vehicles. All electronics must be stock SC electronics from any of the various manufactures. You may run an aftermarket radio system. Batteries allowed are 6 cell nimh/2s Lipo.

Open Corr Class

All SC chassis mass produced for the purpose of SC racing may be used.2wd vehicles Only. Brushed or Brushless speed controls and motors are allowed. The limit is 10.5 for BL and a 19t Competition type brushed rebuild motor. All hop ups are allowed that are specific to the vehicle you are running. 6 cell nimh/2s Lipo batteries only. All tires are open to tires which must conform to CORR/Shortcourse standards. No 1/8 style tires allowed. All Bodies must conform to SC standards.

4WD Short Course Open Class

All 4WD SC 1/10 chassis are allowed. No 1/8 hybrids. All tires are open to tires which must conform to CORR/Shortcourse standards. No 1/8 tires.Same with Bodies.Must be SC specific bodies. 6 cell nimh/2s Lipo batteries only. 540/550 Motors,no wind limit. All Hop-Ups are allowed specific to the chassis being ran.

All rules will be enforced to the best of our abilities.Any racer can protest formally any other racer and their vehicles. We will take this seriously. The person whom is being formally protested will be informed of why and whom is protesting him in all fairness to both parties.

Really?

Its been published on multiple threads.Unfortunately many have taken upon themselves to interpret rules for themselves. I will have an update list of rules. As far as why we may decide on these rules,I think they will be self explanatory. At this point,I think alot of you will find yourselves in the Open Class very soon. You ask and you will receive.

How about using a Traxxas RTR Slash's complete stock electronics in a SC10 Kit?  That would be considered a stock right?

I agree, the class rules should be posted on the Norcal Website.

What are the rules for Stock Short Course? What are the rules for Open CORR?

Folks ask this question every week here and on the track? Why? Because they need to know and it's not published anywhere. So my suggestion is to publish the rules loud and clear here, at the track and most important at the Norcal Hobbies website.

Also, explain the reasoning behind the decisions. And make it sound fun and exciting... because it is!

Or just leave everyone wondering and asking and arguing the rules over and over.

Yeah, the Stock Short Course class as we call it now is basically people running the stock electronics from the vehicles that were in the car when purchased. We have allowed motor swapping between brands but thats about it.There are those who have switched stuff out and have been told to either comply or run open.Aftermarket speed controls are not allowed because they are an advantage. If I see this you will be asked to change it out or you can't race.Since we have a heavy schedule,I usually leave it to racers to be honest in this department, but if anyone sees anything weird going on,please bring this to my attention.

Wait a minute, so vehicles other than the Slash are allowed in the "Slash Spec" class, it's not just for Slashes?  Are people allowed to put a ESC from a V2 SC10 and a motor from a RTR Ultima SC into a Slash if those electronics are allowed in their respective vehicles?

Really not trying to be a smartalek here, I promise!  Just wanna know the rules!  I wanna get a piece of this action whenever my schedule allows and I'll mostly likely go straight to Open, but I'd like to see if I can run a "spec" or "stock" rig or what not also.

Racenut, that is my plan. Pick up a Ultima SC and head to Open/mod. I will miss the spec class for all the bashing and whining though. HAHA

Never argue with an idiot. They'll just drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience!

Look at Crumby! Hooked up with the bigdogs.Nice!

Well said Pitta.Leave the stock class alone and run open if you want to run brushless. we can go round and round on why some feel they should allow 17.5 in spec. Not a strong point other then some don't feel like stepping up to open for whatever reason. A stock Ultima SC ran Open times in spec short course. No need for hop ups or after market tires or brushless.Of course Joel is a great driver, but it proves the point.Leave it alone.

Really?
