I have a question. Does NorCal provide transponders for use during racing or do I have to purchase a personal transponder?

I think the traction is better then asphalt.I ran a 2wd and an 1/8 buggy today.Very good traction. The 1/8 line is not prepped as the infield is so prep you cars for that section.GridIrons or basically anything in a medium should work well as far as AKA tires go.Track is ready for tomorrow.See you all in the morning.Brings some heavier springs.Smile

just set up your car for concrete or asphalt.  The traction is similar with jumps.

Some additional words of advice from someone who used to run on this kind of traction.

Check your slipper, it'll be too loose.  Then check your diff, it'll probably be looser than your slipper after adjustment.  Finally, watch your motor/speedo temperatures closely.  This kind of traction destroys electronics and electrics.

Have fun everyone, I wish I could join, but I'm "stuck" in a golf tournament at Las Positas.

We tried the track tonite and the bite was very high.

Here are some recommendations for racers not used to the high bite or their first time.

1) Try not to run ribbed front tires the grip way to much on this surface. Reach out to your fellow racer for some tapers, panthers or Barcode style tires. Find an old worn down set from a friend or pick up a new front tire at the hobby shop. Almost any rear tire that is worn will work as long as the front isnt new.

2) In slash the trick is going to be taking front bite out of the Car. Run old front tires and new rear tires. Or you can run a little bead off glue on the edge s of the front tires to reduce grip.

3) Lower the car just a little. And turn down the steering. The forward bite is amazingly high and forgiving.

4) Be prepared for a fast track that you can jump on the throttle.

It usually holds up excellent, but needs some UV to cure.Thats why the track is not being run on right now for a few days.I actually let the track set for about 2 hours after the 1st treatment yesterday and ran someones Mod 2wd with no damage.I crashed quite a bit.It will take the next day or 2 to harden.Thats where the lime comes in.We'll see how it holds up this weekend, but as the weather gets even more consistent, the track will get better and better.Good to hear you 2 are coming out this weekend.

I take it Racenut is feeling better? Good deal. Have you guys ever done a successful surgaring that lasted (the whole race day) in the cool spring time? I know the homies here say that in the summer time with sugaring, the traction is richter! Does it really keep the track in pretty decent condition as far as breaking up and all that? I guess we'll find out on Sat.

Ron and I will see you all then,L8!
