FGX in today's F1 race, started 3rd and finished 4th, slow but fun (turn on 720p at least, black lotus, kind of hard to see in the video)

That was a sick layout today.  It made you work for it!  Also for mini we could use the Turnigy Trackstar motors.  They are cheap like $32.00 and Eric could order a bunch.  They do have timming though.    Handout options!!!!!

Talked to Eric at the end of the race about the mini class motor.  I didnt know that Speed Passion is no longer making the Cirtix 17.5 I guess.  I thought it was just a not in stock thing!  So I am up in the air about what to do.  What if we go to a SP Cirtix 21.5 and then they discontinue that?

The track is sweet. Drove a couple laps with some friends TC's and had a blast. Soldering up a 13.5 in the old TC now to make it out to the opener.

USVTA rules use a 25.5t motor.  Might want to check with other tracks like Speedworld.  It would good to keep in line with everyone else so racers can go to different tracks to race and have no problems.

Some of us have to buy a new motor anyway for mini.  We don't have a D3.5.  Lol

Using a timed 17.5T is just like running TC.  Can I run my mini Assassin that uses TC tires?

For VTA, really don't know if 21.5t on a touring car is a good idea.

Today after the soda spray, my 17.5t touring car doesn't need to brake at all though out the track (lift half throttle to slow down, and I don't think it has drag brake on).

In that case, a heavier 21.5t car can just cruise though the track full throttle, or serious ones will just gear extremely high and burn the motor.

IMO, 17.5t sportsman here is pretty much the VTA for other small indoor carpet tracks. Though we may set a higher minimum weight rule to help players keep the cost down a bit.

I really dont want to buy another motor!

I think when the rules keep changing in a class is when people get frustrated and quit.  Seen it happen last year!

21.5 I think that is what Tino uses now!  I encourage my students to start slow before they race with the teacher!

Damn, any 17.5 for mini will be really, really fast. Thinking the class would be more fun with a scaled back 21.5 motor limit.

Oh, VTA too.   Remember we're running again the following weekend again.   If you don't make it sunday, you can make it next weekend!

And yes Peppy, Mini will need to be any 17.5 as the cirtix motor of last year is gone.  Such a shame as it was the perfect spec motor.
