Wow. So much wrong in so many words. My head hurts.

Hi Fraz! You ready to bring those planes over the hill? Agreed the Sagisis, Castros, etc are great examples for the hobby, but saying you don't interview any "bucks" is a bit elitist sounding. Maybe those words have a different connotation but perception is reality for most. And some may consider Gonzalo a buck and not a good interview as GaryO is clearly implying. Perception again is reality. I have no opinion........Yeah right!!! But I digress.

GaryO- Don't call it a comeback, you've been here for years~

Sorry that the few interviews I have done so far have not been National or World champions. However, I don't interview any bucks. The 3 that have been done (Sagisi, Castro, Cortez) are all legitimate up and coming fast drivers. And 1 thing that all 3 of them have in common is that they are all hard workers. They are dedicated to the hobby and to their racing which tells me they will all have a bright future so these are guys that I respect and want to promote. You said "Gonzalo who??" Well read the interview then come out to the track and watch him drive and you'll find out who he is. As far as "local heroes" Albano and Jelich yea I'll interview those guys at some point I'm sure.

Ummm yeah.... Gonzalo who?? Why don't you interview somebody that really matters in the RC industry? Like Paul Lemieux, Atsushi Hara, Oscar Jansen, or mabye local heroes Mini Mod Albano or even Kevin Jelich. These people have made a difference in RC racing internationally and locally.

Jesse- you're doing an awesome job with promoting NorCal. I look forward to reading the interviews and race reports. You should start your own thread with all the interviews so that it don't get lost in the current thread in a couple of days.

Ha ha yea that was my idea for him to lay down. I wanted a not so serious look to the photo. If people are getting a chuckle out of that pic, then I did my jobSmile

I caught up with one of Northern California's most up and coming driver's this weekend. He is  known as a Team Associated die hard. A Touring Car specialist, but also has some game in Off road. Doing this interview, I was actually shocked when he told me how long he has been racing. For somebody to be racing for only a little over a year, how has he become so good, so quick? I personally took notice to him early in 2011 when he was constantly the last guy to leave the facility, putting in pack after pack for practice as the sun would set and the track would only be lit by neighboring house lights from next door. With his sights set on the 2012 Reedy Race of Champions (hosted by Nor Cal Hobbies) competing in the Open Mod division, Gonzalo Cortes will be one of the top contenders in that class and a possible threat to win the title, so I thought it was important to get some background info on this young talent.
