64p in all my cars. F-1 having gears completely exposed have seen no issues of catching debris. If we destroy a spur it is due to not being meshed properly.
I recommend BK pitch. No grindage with that.

I think that pretty much all of us are running 64p. It's a parking lot, but it's blown off really well and sprayed with traction juice a couple times. Very fast and clean.

What motor will you be using? That will determine your FDR.

Track at Norcal usually has a long straight. With most of the short stack 17.5 motors out now, a lot of people are gearing around 3.6-3.8 FDR depending on track size, temp, motor timing.

I'm going to try to keep this short:
Looking to get back into electric 1:10 TC spec. My last few days of rc racing was almost a decade ago- around the intro of brushless and lipo. NorCal was still in union city...
In the process of getting the required gear together in the next week or so, but i could use a little help with gearing at NorCal for 17.5 "blinky"...
Now the question.... What's a good starting point FDR?

I missed the last drivers' meeting... when's the next race? I'm rebuilding my VTA for anyone that feels up to the challenge!

Peppy- That's kinda what oval modifieds are.   An old TC with VTA slick tires.

Oh, it's on! Can't wait to bust out the VTA again. Sadly, I won't be at Top Gun this coming weekend, so you should all at least TRY and have fun without me there.

Ross, I'll bust out my VTA car again for the Castle Classic.   The date for this event is October 18th.

And just so you guys can plan on it The Turkey Shootout is November 21.   Yes, that's a saturday.   In November, we'll be back to Saturdays.

At the last on-road drivers' meeting Eric mentioned that the awards for the Summer Series will be handed out at Top Gun. Sadly, I won't be there so... keep your greasy mitts off mine!

Jason, this was the very first VTA race at the new Norcal.  Track was a lot smaller back then.  I miss VTA too.

What a great series, the last track layout being my favorite. Curvy, smooth lines--not too technical, and not to straight. Perfect. Way to go James (or Chuckles, as BadBoy would have it).

Not for nothing, but would anyone like to race VTA again? I know the excitement for it has died down what with GT and all, but man, I really miss getting that heavy, slow thing around the track. Maybe after Top Gun for the last series of the year, or Castle Classic?

Glad you got it on camera Jason. My gut feeling was telling me I needed to go help the older guy. Hope someone got more pics and the idiots license plate number.
