That's good info James. Thanks!

I have been on the Roar site and read that rule book up and down and it really doesn't tell me what the class rules are for tires and such. I know it give me all the info on body and stuff. But the non-ramping and tires rules specifically are usually a class rule at the club races. Everyone runs different. We run ramping 17.5 up at Speedworld. So that is why I am asking. I was thinking about coming down and also running the Top Gun and just wanted to get my stuff in order.

Also - is it correct that at the Top Gun that we have to purchase tires there? If so, how long do those tires usually last? I have never run those Solaris hards before. I am pretty new to the sedan world.

Thanks!

The tire at the top gun is going to be the Solaris hard again I believe. There is currently no spec tire for club racing at norcal, people are using the Team powers 36, Solaris hards and I've seen a few people running muchmore 32 absolutes and SJRs.

As for other rules I'm not 100% sure. Minimum weight is around 1350g and 2s lipo battery voltage 8.5v. Wing chord is 40mm max and side dams are 40mm by 20mm max. Your wing also must be mounted below or level with the roof of your car.

So are there rules for the sedan classes? Posted anywhere? I can't seem to find anything. Both for club racing and the Top Gun.

Tires? What's legal?

Thanks

Nor-Cal now has new WGT mounted tires in stock.

Also have one of Kevin Woods' WGT built up as a roller to show.  Posted in Classifieds.

No excuses for anyone!

We have 2 classes at Nor-Cal Hobbies that use the Citrix system, Formula 1 and the new FWD Class - this is a specific combo (21.5 for F1 and 17.5 for FWD)   To clarify - The speed control and motors are to remain in their stock form.   No tampering is allowed, in any way.   These are supposed to be the fun/lax classes.

I'll figure something out about the gearing and tire diameter by tomorrow.  There's no doubt, that's a big inequity.

Suggestion:  Please take the FWD rules discussion to the FWD thread

Someone on Sunday did bring up the issue that there really has not been any formal, agreed to rules for this new class. How can someone be cheating if there are no formal rules in place. I suggest that we all agree to some basic rules and then we go out and have fun.

RULE ONE: Speed Passion Cirtex (sic) speed control/motor combo 17.5 as the only allowable power option with no opening or modifications to the motor or speed control.

RULE TWO: Only front wheel drive chassis allowed. Any manufacture

RULE THREE: Adjust straight line speed with gearing to allow all makes of cars the ability to compete.

RULE FOUR: The only leagle bodies front motored, front wheel drive, two door bodies.

Anyone else care to chime in on rules?

I lived in communist country for few years I know how the system works. When you're prosecuted based on suspicion, you confess to avoid further punishments

After reading these posts Im going to step in here. If i get any ideas that cheating is going on in any classes at Nor-Cal Hobbies and you are suspect of cheating I will check your motor and speedos and if found cheating will be asked to leave for the day and unfortunately be made an example of how things will be handled. Nothing further needs to be said here. Please if you are new and If you  dont understand the rules and need help see me for any questions and I will get you answers. Racing is always fun at Nor-cal.
