We all know the work has to be done.  Lets protect the work that has all ready been done on the road coarse.  "It's simple" lets build a wall and move on.  Its like the diet plan my wife is still not understanding,"Eat less and move more"!  Theres no gimmics and no pills to take.  Are you sure!  No, just "Eat less and move more"!  "Really" and so on and so on.........

Bill,

Kevin had to work on the track on Sunday, because that was the last day he would have his equipment. He has to get these track ready as soon as possible for nationals. This is gunna be the biggest race norcal will have. I like a hooked up track just like everyone else, but there has to be sacrifice. Not trying to be negative. Just giving reason.

Jake,

Please read my post again.  Did I mention off-road racers?

My issue was with the dirt work being done to the large off-road track on Sunday...The wind came up and changed direction in the PM; and, the dust effectively did in the on-road track.

And I was fairly hooked up in the first qualifiers too; so, I believe Eric had made the right moves in regard to treating the track that morning.  Thanks Eric.

Bill

I would just like to say that Kevin and Eric are putting together a premier race facility that is constantly evolving. Im sure at times things are being put aside based on importance. If you think they are sitting on their butts think again. There are only so many hours in a day and Kevin is working like 18-20 of them on a constant basis. Eric is keeping the business end rolling foward which is no small task. Give them some time as things are very busy. There is so much effort put into attracting big races, which NorCal is constantly getting. I'm not sure where else you have this many top events to attract drivers from all around the world to Union City CA?

Kevin and Eric will get things put together. If you see something that needs attention tell them at that moment so it can be addressed. Dont just come on here and vent about this and that. If a problem is not known it cannot be fixed. We all put a lot of time, money and effort into R/C cars. This is NorCal hobbies the race place.

every one chiming in on what shoulda, coulda been done or what gets neglected or pooped on , needs to back off! or receive the rathe of rain and no racing at all, voodoo you!

what has not yet been said is that, yall on road only guys, dont like to share racing with the off road guys what so ever on any give day. whether it be practice or racing or pitting.

i for one dont care about anything, but it gets very dumb to read yall complain about this on road verse off road thing.

in the long run, off road guys, are what pays to keep the on road track their.

I agree with Peppy that a wall around the back straight will work wonders.

I didn't race last weekend but it looked like everyone was handling fine.  I dont even know how to go about saying this thats not going to piss off someone.  I love this hobby and Norcals efforts to please everyone but thats never going to happen all the time.  I have donated a lot of my time to help out on the road coarse and it sucks to see it get neglected by anyone or anything.  Before any road race I walk down the straight and pick up hanfulls of rocks so no on road cars get damaged or wreck durring a race.  I also dont care which way the wind is blowing the track is going to get dirty.  But in keeping the dust&dirt down and people walking across the track to go race the offroad there needs to be some division.  A 3 to 4 foot plywood wall would be ideal!  Banners and other advertising would look cool along the back straight plus would do wonders in keeping the road coarse track clean.  I am not an offroad hatter by any means.  If I had the money I would race everything.....  Hopefully I dont get bashed to much by saying this.  The voices in my head wont shut up!  (peppy)

How did I get in this again? Thought that was over. Now hurryup and go look at loopnet.com for your warehouse so you can race carpet with the 14 other people that still run and have all the traction in the world. Just leave me out of this.

I am just happy to have a place to race at!!!!

Traction is a matter of throttle control.. the guys who have offroad skills have an advantage. as it takes throttle control to negotiate any surface.

If you notice the ones that have an issue do not run offroad. Offroad is always looking for grip. Onroad only racers assumes grip should be there.

A word of advice if you can.. onroaders try your hand at offroad. you may hate it because you'll be looking for grip.. but you will learn not to pull full throttle all the time and trigger control.

Regardless.. like we have in 1:1 racing.. the track is the same for everyone.. conditions change and you need to adapt. If you want regularity eat prunes. if you want to challenge your skills adapt your tuning, and driving skills that's what make you successful.

Jeeze....so if the traction is good Eric is a traction guru, and if its bad its Kevins fault? From what I understand Eric was experimenting with track prep and it didnt come out right. Lets move on without the innuendo and consider it lesson learned.

Yeah, Bill & OD!!! If you can't tune accordingly, find an indoor facility with no wind!!! Wink

Thats funny dust.. I was running my 12th scale modified and it was hooked up everywhere.. my tc 17.5 ran well too. no problem anywhere with grip.

You guys who want perfect conditions have to understand that this is an outdoor track. tune accordingly. or find an indoor facility with no wind.

The dirt flying in from the prevailing west winds from the bay carry dirt and dust let alone all the cars parking in the dirt lot next to the track. Its not from the construction.. as the winds go from west to east.. (onroad track to the offroad track.) kevin is right the winds comes from the west not the other way around.

if you racers set your cars up like reedy race conditions then you'll be having too much bite in the front.

try NOT saucing your front tires first then tune accordingly. soften the rear, raise the front ride height and increase front droop. let the weight transfer to the rear of the car and statically biased to the rear.

take out some of the front toe and turn your dual rate down a few clicks.

its the same track for everyone.. so those who can adapt will be fast those who want the track to come to them will be looking for excuses.

haven't you guys forgotten that old parking lot skills?

The NORCAL guys do a bang up job keeping the tracks in good shape.

Kudos to the norcal management for the killer facility.
