Saturday, Saturday, Saturday...

Bring out those WGT cars and we can compare setups on Saturday.

My car is dialed on Eric's prepped track.

I can use some BIG help with going to Mod for my 1/12th scale.

Can't wait for some fried rice too.

After getting wrong so many times, the odds eventually have to come out a winner at least once.

Lot's of fun today.  Traction was insane in the membrane!  Great job Eric V.

Felt good to drive the F1 again at Norcal.  Start getting those F1's out again.

Any night racing planned for the summer months?

Looked like F1 was making a come back today. was nice to see some faces that haven't been out in a while. If the traction stays I'll have to get the 1/12 scale out...

Eric, great!! I will spread the words. When will be the first one?

John G, I saw quite a few new faces yesterday at FPR. And you were racing with both of my first time racing friends there.

In my opinion the only difference between parking lot racing & a permanent on road track is just the surface. The level of competion does not change. There will be seasoned & beginers on both tracks. I raced at FPR yesterday & I raced with the same guys I raced at Norcal. When I started racing in 1991 I went to a track where they held national events & yes it can be overwhelming at first, but I just asked around from the locals & made new friends. As far as getting setup with equipment for beginers I always beleived to get the proper equipment the first time & not waste your money on upgrading sub par equipment later. The Speed passion Citrix is a great option for 17.5  Non Ramping racers. So Im sure parking lot or permanent tracks are beginer friendly, just ask the guys racing we are always there to help the newbies. After all we want to see the hobby grow.

Where here you go.   We now have a beginner/novice class.   It's a no pressure/test the waters type of class.  As a guideline we'd like to keep it with a  stock type motor, be it brushed or brushless.   Bring it out and run it, I don't care if it's 2wd, 4wd, or 1/16th scale.   If you want to come out to play - this is the class for you.    There's only 2 rules I'd like to see enforced here -  1) Have fun with it.  2) It's always FREE!

Bill,

"Would be nice that this new low-level TC car class not be done by "established drivers"."

Were you referring to 17.5 NR? I brought two friends to FPR parking lot race yesterday (1st race for them). Then, I also told them that we could go to Norcal today. Both of them said no because people at Norcal are "too serious" or "too pro"......

And then another friend asked me to bring him to Norcal. I said, with 27t brushed, Nimh batteries, and AM radio, you better race a few times at FPR first.

IMO, "new blood" drivers need sportsman/rockie class (maybe once/twice a month). Best with house transponder to borrow, and maybe brushed ok. Keep their cost down first, and once they improved, they will invest on the upgrades.
