Is ROAR membership required to compete at Nor-Cal Hobbies?? And if so is it available to sign up on race day? Thanks

Yup. As of now, the ESC restrictions only apply to 12th scale.

fGreat.  Now know what days to take off from work.  Thanks.

Another topic is last night's carpet racing at NorCal.  Ruben's WGT car flew by me one time at an unbelievable speed with his Tekin ESC.  Fortunately, the speed could only be done a couple times during the run.  Whoa though!

What are the final dates of the On-road Asphalt Nats at NorCal?  Have seen two different sets of dates in August.  Thanks.

I can't speak for AE, but the tekin adds a good amount of timing early with a tuneable ramp. Previously, the first stage of timing came very soon and with a very aggressive timing ramp.

With the latest software, you can control when the timing comes in and when it ends, along with how much timing. The second stage of timing comes in after a set delay with 3 different levels on ramps. This is also adjustable with how much total timing.

In the end, you are able to control how much, how soon, and how fast timing comes in.

Since we are on the topic already, Does anyone know what the Tekin and Black Diamond guys figured out in the software?

Please dont take it as a slight Pakk.Your car was way too fast for the sportsman class. If you want to run 2.03,please sign up for the expert class. Its better suited there. That being said, watching your car in your main event just proved why the decision made needed to be made.
Really?

I had a huge reply, but I re-read it and hit delete. I'm sure you, nor cal hobbies, and all the other racers know better.

See you guys sunday.

No Black Diamond speed Controls in sportsman. You can run the Castle Pro.It goes along with the logic that sportsman level drivers don't need the extra speed from these speed controls. As was mentioned in the drivers meeting Sunday,we are trying to help these newer drivers learn the craft of 1/12 while being competitive with each other on a closer playing field.Your car was a perfect example why these are not aloud and the programming will be limited in this class.
Really?

The only requirement for sportsman is you must run the older tekin software if your running the Tekin speedos. (2.0 software or older). Expert is the only class that can run the new 2.03 software from tekin as well as any ROAR legal speedo they want. You choose which class you sign up for. All other ROAR rules apply.

Great day of racing guys. C main again for 12th scale  and racing was fun and fast and  Congrats to winners.

Also in a drivers meeting we put to vote for a sportsman class. It was a unanimous decision and So effective today 12th scale will now have a 17.5 x (Sportsman class) and a 17.5 class ( Expert Class). You choose what class you want to run in and 5 makes a class.

PLease feel free to call me if your looking into upgrading your old speedo and/or motor  to a new ones. Norcal is working hard with the manufacturers to get all racers up to speed in the classes . You can reach me at 510-282-2450 and i will help with getting your equipment updated and helping you swap out your equipment if you feel like it is not up to pace for your class.
