Best way for success is to allow racers to sign up at what they feel is their level..then they have the choice to go up or down after a few race days..

Expert and Sportsman

If you feel you can "learn the hard way" like Ashby and not get upset if you get run over. then go for expert.. just keep in mind not all experts will be experts as well and the "three turn rule" applies only in qualifying.

"three turn rule" = If during qualifying you have a faster car come up on you..don't hold him up...you have three turns to let them pass or risk being pushed aside we will try to call this during racing if possible. AND...since everyone is on their own time clock it makes no sense to slow somebody else up.

This does not apply during mains ==> passing an opponent CLEAN is part of the fun.==> you can dice and not have to give up your spot you're racing for the checkered flag. You bump out someone (intentional or not)...you wait for them.

I don't think that anyone purposely takes another person out. Sometimes we get caught up in the heat of battle and do not let off of the gas soon enough and plow into the racer in front of you. Most racers are not good enough to intentionally take someone out and not hurt themselves in the process. I also understand how frustrating it is to keep moving over for faster cars. You never get a chance to get into a rhythm to at least try and compete against your peers. When I first started racing RC cars there where only three classes. 1/12th Novice, 1/12th Armature and 1/12th Expert. I never entered anything but the expert class as I felt that was the only why I would learn to compete against those that where the best. It took my five years to win my first expert A main!!!!! I spent many a race moving over. Hopefully, if we keep getting the kind of 1/12th turn out like last Sunday, we can have two classes. 17.5 Sportsman and 17.5 Expert. That way you will not feel like you are holding someone up. Just don't give up and feel free to ask for help when you have a question!!!

Hey Louie...no worries man...you're an upstanding racer that took the time to talk after the race. I enjoy racing with you. I find that I'm a wreck waiting to happen each time I move over and it really messes up my rythem and concentration...it's hard to do...and your right it's harder than holding your line. I've taken out someone moving over for another (OD can attest to that at the Top Gun)...I was bummed for weeks...didn't race for a month after that. Don't take it in the shorts, you did the right thing... in the race... and after

the bk lcr is what roar uses to test for motors i think that the right model number lmao if you guys think people are cheating its impossiple to wind your own can and the rotors you cant re zap the magnets unless you buy a sapper the size of my truck that costs 40grand who would spend that to win bragging rights at a club race you all are ****ing lossing grip on reality if you think that just face it some motors are special not much better but a little if you buy enough S*** your bound to find a good one here and there how about set your car up better and beat guys there in stead of bitching about people cheating the guy with the fastest car does not always win . thats like if you have aces every time in poker you will still get beat

Not to worry. We all get better with more wheel time. Just keep coming out and if you need help, all you have to do is ask.

Good day of racing sunday. Lotsa fun as always. It was my first day trying to race more than one car. I can't handle it. I'm going to stick to the 12th scale and put the others to rest for now.

I have to apologize to a few guys. I won't say names. But I ran into a few people a few times sunday at what seemed to be some key points in the race. I know I look like a hack out there, but I truly try not to be. Finding the right time and place to move or slow down to get out of the way is more challenging to me than nailing a turn just the right way.

Hey Ling. Thanks for the heads up.This is the meter which was ordered. BK Precision 875B.Its an LCR meter.Should suit our needs.

Honestly ABR,I hear you.Problem is when there are loopholes in either design or rules and no contingency for these, they end up with racers getting creative, whether, legally or not.The DUO motor design was agreat performer but a poor example of not thinking it through to conclusion in regards to fudging with motors.

Really?

How about if ROAR will only pass true spec motors and not put it on the tracks and racers.

Hicks,

I think ROAR is changing motor tech from inductance to resistance. I'm not sure the rationale why.   A resistance meter that measure that low of a resistance is pretty expensive.  Your best bet is a good LCR (L for inductance, C for capacitance, and R for resistance) meter that does both really well.
