This whole on-road season grip has gotten better and better - up until the mains last week.   We won't repeat that formula.   At least the rain has washed it all away.

Time will tell with the weather...  I hope to see you guys Saturday morning.

Heard 3 inches of rain in SJ just for tomorrow only along with thunderstorms. Expecting some flooding in flood-prone areas.

There is the Pepsi Throwback which uses Sugar and not corn syrup... wal-mart has it for a dollar per 2 liter bottle. Thing is after spraying someone will need to put hot water through the sprayer to keep it from gumming up.

Unfortunately, I don't remember the results with sugar water.

I think spraying VHT this weekend would be a waste of money. I don't think ground is going to get to 70 degrees when it's suppose to be 59 degrees outside. Maybe for round 2 the track will be 70+, but not for the 1st round or the mains.

Joey. The secret sauce i was referring to was a sugar/syrup base for soda fountains. If you mean it is vht. I stand corrected

regardless any sugar base needs to stay on low humidity.

The RAMS CLUB is every ones club. We all where a member once. 1/5 cars weigh to much for any traction.

Oh, I thought the secret sauce was VHT. At least that's what I was thinking.

With 1/5th cars we found the asphalt does have to reach a certain temp for the VHT to work. Unless it gets a chance to "bake in" as we called it, the VHT is nothing but a nasty mess. Ultimately our club opted to stop using the stuff.

Joey   secret sauce is a corn syrup base.. not good when it gets humidity or cold ... ends up gumming up your tires

VHT dont need sun to work..  soda does.  VHT works better when the ground is warm  at least 70 degrees.  of if really cold blast it with a flame torch   hot diggity!

Alcohol breaks down the VHT though. Yeah it might make it easier to spray but it won't be nearly as sticky.  Dilute with MEK  is the best   but throw the spryaer away afterwards unless it has teflon seals

vht Increases traction regardless of weather conditions, I LOVE the smell of VHT, race gas, heck even nitromethane...

or you can use VP’s premier traction compound, LC7..  easier to spray and doesn't require heat on the surface and is ready in a few minutes.

Looks like Toys for Tots race could be a wet one.  Weather looks iffy!

I knew there was something I missed about racing closed-wheel cars. Having a door to aim for!

We should have a new class to race. "The 17.5 build the strongest 1/10 car and hack your way to the finish class". Hacking encouraged.
