We are toying with running the offroad indoor and also outdoor onroad asphault this Friday night. We will run this from one computer indoors like its one program.Whos interested? I think this might be a good friday idea to ensure good turnout. Also this friday is half off practice.

You can spec the settings I suppose but the next thing will be who's motor can run more timing in that.

Novak's have 12. We have 24, Orion has 24ish(depends on old or new), Lrp's are 24(I think) and Trinity may have up to 40!?

I do understand that some esc's may have an advantage though. Ahh the persuit of performance....

    Martin,

Between the LRP SPX and the Tekin RS/RS Pro - On track performance - it's a tie.

The Tekin has a smaller footprint. You can solder the wires in line or 90 deg from the solder post for a cleaner looking install.  You can solder on the cap in a convenient place usually right on top of the speedo.  You NEED the Hotwire to get the most out of it.  Programming with the Hotwire is a cinch.  It also has the ability to run in hybrid mode (sensored starts - then sensorless) which, from what I hear, is a more efficient way to run mod motors.  The Tekin has gone through several software updates so chances are - it will never be obsolete.  I hear Tekin customer support is top notch too.  You can get on the phone and talk directly to the president.

The LRP is Blue.  I like blue.  It's a little bigger and there is never a good place to mount the hardwired cap.  It's super easy to program without a laptop.

You can't go wrong with either.

Nice run on sunday.  Everyone is breaking off the rust.  It sure didn't take long for you to break off the rust.

    Hey Ling,

What's the official verdict? SPX vs. Tekin RS Pro? Which one do I spring for?

Randy - you guys made the Tekin Speedo too fast.  It's like cheating.  Lol!

I think that if you run the boost 10 less than the max setting - that should be prettty close to a LRP TC spec.  Running no boost at all would be slower than a TC spec.

Awesome flowing track Kevin and crew. The bender boards are easy on the cars. I probably crashed all over the place and did not break one part. I think I have to come back during the week to play some more.

BTW, Kevin I found the source of the noisy front end. It was a loose CVD pin inside scraping away at the steering knuckle. Lubed the CVD and it is way quieter.

Had a great time! A little rusty, but nothing that a couple weeks of driving can't fix.

It's official... the newer style stock ESC's (SPX/Tekin RS) are the way to go. Considerable top speed advantage, fosho... getting yanked down the backstraight is not fun at all!

Tight lines and good handling car always help though Viva La 416!!!!
