From what I hear - you want to gear at about 3.50-4.0 if you have a LRP TC spec or most other speedos.  If you have the high timing speedos like the LRP SPX or the Tekin RS with the timing boost cranked - you want to gear near 4.0-4.2 range.

John,  you may want to start a few teeth smaller with the SPX.  Aaron went down 3-4 teeth when he switched to the SPX,    But that is for running the higher punch profiles 6-8.Cool

It's a great speedo, and NO laptop required.Tongue out

I'm in for 13.5 and RCGT and F1. Go plastic fantastic! LOL

I was wondering that myself.  I can't remember what we were gearing at for 17.5, I wanna say 3.3-3.5.  All I know is that we need to use the spur size pinion gears.

Tekin RS/RS PRO=SUPER DIALED!  I'm sure the SPX is awesome too though.  how is the size on the SPX?  The tekin is the only ESC i've found that fits in the Academy GV2 except the speedpassion somethingorother.

BTW, I should mention that the Tekin has the quicktune deal that allows you to dial a lot of items without using the hotwire.  You do need the hotwire to rev the firmware though.

Since the asphalt track will be used again, are you guys going to continue on-road carpet every other Friday night?

We have started the onroad track. Be prepared for Euro style green infield again and a nice looking layout with lots of flow. We will not be using boards as well. The complete track will be made of flexible bender board. Im hoping for completion friday afternoon and If you have 2.4ghz you can run on the track saturday.

Crashby,

From the sounds of your other posts in other forums you don't have your Tekin setup correctly for your application. I'm confident that if you had it setup right with 189 software you'd spank the other cars with the other esc's.

Anyone looking to get 189 software for the Tekin RS line simply needs to email me for it : Rpike@teamtekin.com

Ashby, Get the latest revision of software that allows for more timing for the Tekin. Try it and you should see a noticable difference. All the SPX did was give the motor more timing. Tekin did the same thing. Try it and let everyone know.

Hey Crashby, if you downloaded the Tekin software from their website - then you definitely don't have the latest version with "Boost"
