With some really small jumps like they have at the tamiya worlds, that could be taken out very easily,I think 2wd buggy/truck would be alot of fun.

Actually, running buggies on carpet works out really well.

At Tamiya worlds, they run a buggy class on the carpet.  They do enforce a rule that has a minimum ride height of 3mm at full shock compression to prevent the body from bottoming out.  It looked like an incredibly fun class to race.  All the buggies were 3-wheeling it around all the corners and they actually had more traction than the sedans.  The carpet did not get torn up at all.

Ling, Too bad not all so called racers see what you see.

3mm ride height at full compression I can believe that it's safer on the carpet.  But you run the risk of snagging that carpet when you crash.  Buggies have exposed shock towers, plus there's the wings.  We'll end up with more touch up tape than actual carpet.

Now if you use trucks I can see it being a lot more carpet friendly.  Everything is covered and huge ride height difference.
