What we do know is that this is an unfortunate circumstance for the racers and shops/track that end up having to make decisions. The motors were submitted to ROAR and were approved. Whether they should or should not have been approved, the public was under the impression that they were good to go. Many racers spent their hard earned money buying shiny new purple motors for their rides. Not everyone chose to go that route. But it seems the majority have.
At Delta we always want to offer a fair, fun place to come a enjoy your hobby. We recognize that the D3.5 is a very popular choice in the 17.5 buggy class class and after weighing our options we have decided to allow the motors for the remainder of the winter series. After the series is over, and if ROAR's ruling still stands, the motors will not be legal for any of our club race events.
We realize that for those of you not running the D3.5 motors, this may seem unfair. Maybe it is. We want to do what we feel is best for the class and racers overall at this time. We feel that the racing in the 17.5 class is currently some of the best racing there is and everyone is really having a good time with it. We'd hate to spoil the good thing that is happening right now. We all know Emard can and has won with a motor other than the D3.5 and many other fast racers are using other brands as well. Lets continue to race hard and HAVE FUN.
We will still be enforcing the Roar approved motor list and the d3.5 will still be approved on "our" list for the remainder of the winter series. Please understand that this decision was not made on a whim and we truly believe that this is what is best for our racers at this time. We thank you all for your continued support and hope to see you all at Round 5 Jan 26th.
Thanks! Hopper

Frist off I have no dog in the fight I don't run 1/10 at all and I find all this a bit silly. rules are rules ROAR does not always show good judgement and there may be more to the story than we all know but DRC is a Roar track and Roar's rules are the ones we chose to go by more or less. maybe you guys should just vote on it at the next race. yes or no for the last 3 races and after that go by the Roar rules.
keep in mined these are TOY CARS and it's the RD's call in the end you can chose to play or not. good luck

these are roar's rules they chose to ban a motor with absolutely no pre warning to the public. this isn't nascar our crew chief didn't build a motor slightly out of spec. no one had any clue the wires we're out of spec. sure we'd all heard rumors but nothing concrete to make me buy another 100.00 motor.
hopper said they might temporarily enforce this ruling, these are'nt roar event's here and we're in the middle of a series. Which some of us are currently spending quite a bit of money to run. not to mention that we have to order motors or stators and hope/ pray that they get here by friday.
feel sorry for the guy's attending snowbirds that just bought 2-3 more of these.
