Anybody gonna try to run 13.5 and mod with the same car this weekend? Just curious....

With the addition of 13.5 we should see the 17.5 class become more of a intermidiate class only (as stock racing, at least in my opinion, should be).

This helps move the "expert" drivers into 13.5 if they want to run a spec style class and turns mod into an open class as it should be. I would even be open to the idea of bumping people out of 17.5 if they are a expert level driver and have them run in the 13.5 or mod class, but this would be Kraig's call not mine.

In the end this turns what was 4 classes of 2wd buggy into 3. So that puts more people in each heat / class and helps make the racing more fun.

@ Eddie F. The flier is correct. The 2wd buggy classes will not be broken up for this race. In anticipation of the addition of 13.5. We'll have to see what transpires moving forward from this race.

Does anyone have information about what is going on with the track this week?

There was a mention of track change for the race this weekend.  This usually shuts the track down for a day or two.

Calendar indicates that track is open for practice every day, other than today.

Trying to plan a practice day this week.  There was also a mention of rain...

Thanks.

That 13.5 Buggy sounds really fun...might just have to order a motor. Can I assume it's an open ESC setting, not a blinky class?

I think the 13.5 2wd Buggy class is gonna explode. I ran it a couple weeks ago and it is fast, but a smooth fast. Stock guys will like it because it's not a motor war class and Mod guys will like it because you are going almost the same speed but more controlable. So it's a win/win for everybody. It also allows the 17.5 guys to grow and mature more and now have a class to graduate to. I'm all in for 13.5 myself.

I think the rough driving has something to do with it. You give a guy fenders and he hits everything but the race director. Buggy classes tend to have cleaner driving.

The reason for more 2wheel Buggys and low short course turn outs could be tire expense, for one. The other is people get burned out running on the same vehicle. Gota mix it up.

Agreed but since short course is dying we got room as well. Probably that's why we see so many buggy 2wd classes as well.

With so many wheelers out there, is there a chance 13.5 will be for wheeler as well for the winter series, a kind of stock 4wd buggy class?
