I think it would be a good idea to start off with a two wheel drive rc,maybe not buggy(most difficult to master) but two wheel short course would be a great place.It will help in the long run in learning throttle control and setup. Something to think about.

Ask one of the guys and I'm sure they will let you try theirs before or after a race. Personally, I hate buggies. They are harder to drive and they break really easily. I say start off with a 4wd truck and get a buggy down the road if you want. I like the contact with SCT racing, too.

For sure! I'm looking at a TLR22 on the classifieds right now. Maybe I can get it and be out there soon!

That’s the question…buggy or truck. I love the way the buggies look but I’m sure the 4X4 trucks are easier to drive. Prolly end up with one of each, isn’t that the way R/C stuff goes?

Once you can get around the track with any sort of speed and consistency, I suggest you moving up to the sportsman class. You'll find it to be less hectic!

Hahaha…that’s what I was thinking after I made the post. “Sure everyone is nice and friendly now…but when I get a car and start racing, then the trash talk begins!”

I didn’t bribe them with pizza though. Does this mean I owe them? I’m still new to R/C racing.

All kidding aside had a great time and can’t wait to start racing. I’m sure I’ll have to put my dues in and get beat in the rookie class by 8 and 10 year old kids. And watching the kids race…lets just say I have a lot of work ahead of me to even be competitive. Those kids rock!

@DiabloDave... Run while you can!

Let me guess. You thought you bonded with pizza and they promised they would help you setup a "really fast" buggy or truck, right? Don't let them fool you, it's all an act. In the end, they will turn you around in corners, tell terrible jokes and make you listen to the worst music you'll ever hear. My son and I almost fell for it, then we saw what was happening, so we went to another track. They sent the tall and ugly one to get us back, but my son destroyed him in 3 races that night and we have not heard from them since.

Do as you wish, but don't say I didn't warn you.

Congrats Kyle! Super fun night of racing!!! I just could not get into a rythm last night! Upsidedown at the top of the stepup 9 times in the main, its amaizing I even finished.

Dont feel too bad about losing to Kyle. His folks promised to ground him for two weeks for disrespecting his elders. So I think he will think twice next time before he LAPS me again!

Many thanks to Travis Kelly for the SUPER FAST! corner work. If not for him I would not have even made the A main. THANKS AGAIN!
