That explains everything... Thanks Doug!

Do Losi buggies have those ball caps like the Associated? Steve's explanation of them designed to pop off rather than breaking parts is BS. I have seen a lot of people (including myself) have those darn things pop off during a race for no apparent reason (even the RPM ones). They might be lighter and easier to work on, but durability is more important IMO. I'm not trying to bash Associated. Every brand has pros and cons.

Associated started out in Hollywood in the movie biz. They were the ones who invented the breakaway glass we used to see cowboys get thrown thru. However they did not last too long, because the glass broke so easy it was hard for the crews to build the sets without everything destroying itself. Thousands & thousands of dollers were lost by a gust of wind or someone slamming a door too hard. So they lost the contract and were on the brink of bankrupracy when they decided to go into the hobby business.

Now they are building r/c cars made from the same materials.

I agree it wast on purpose, but it's just as bad. Basically driving the car balls to the wall with no control of the car. it's reckless, careless, and irresponsible. Need to learn throttle control. How to pace the car and follow a leader without running them over. (rick). Slow down control the car, you will have better lap times and become a better driver. Learn how to pass. Everyone will make contact at times. Most of the time it's an accident. This wasn't an accident, it was just down right careless an should not have happened. If your goingto cut the track, run into guys at full blast, go back to rookie class and learn how to drive. Even in rookie class it's not tolerated. like krig said once, you woulnt drive a real car like that would you? Drive within your skill level.

Richard, Buy the AKA closed cell inserts and dont use the foam that came with the tires. They are a bit costly but is you glue carfully you can reuse them a few times. Hard to get a good balance tire when you cut the insert.

Great night last night! Kraig & Hopper had the track dialed! 8 min mains are so much FUN!!!!! THANKS GUYS.

With Big J's setup, my car practically drives it self! Which is good cause most of you have seen the way I drive.

Sorry about your chassis Steve! I am very sure it was not done on purpose. Who ever it was prob doesnt even realize he did it.

Just a helpful fact.... Losi chassis is metal and wont break. Dont know why Assoc. makes there cars so fragile!

Just trim the edges off to contour with the tire. Don't over do it. If your using the white foam it basically will fit and it compresses and will be fine. If your talking about closed foam like blue or red don't cut it at all.

Also when gluing the tires use denatured alcohol or motor spray to clean the rims and the beads of the tires. Th rims have a release compound on them to come out of the mold easily. If you don't clean them good he tire will come off.

If I hadn't broke I don't hint I would have finished second. Rick is our biatch.

Understand that in bad accidents the cups are suppose to come off, saving you from breaking other parts.

Apologies are ok, but at really pisses me off is that someone drove so reckless as to come across not only his lane but across open area an into me in my lane hard enough to break a chassis and tear off a soldering post on my esc. All in a 8 min main in the first two laps. this was not an accident. If you lose control that bad, get off the freaking throttle. Stop regain control and move on.

Congrats Doug and Team Losi.

Serious question: Do other biggies (any brand) have problems with those ball caps? That's one of the reasons why I got rid of my SC10. They are a terrible design with all of the contact in SCT racing and for open wheel buggy racing.

As for Steve's rant... I have been on both sides of that senerio. It's rediculous that you didn't receive an apology. Mistakes happen. Apologize when they do. Not only did it cost you a 2nd place finish to Doug, but a broken chassis is not cheap to fix!

Congrats dougie!

Now my rant. During the main I was getting ready to take the second double when another car came across the track from the first double coming straight across and taking me out breaking my chassis, and damaging my ESC, and popping off a ball cup. We were running a 8 min main. There is absolutely no reason to be running that reckless in the second lap of a long main like that. I was running second on top of that. You cannot cut the track like that. Not to mention after taking me out just continued torun without even a stop and go or hey dude I'm sorry. Get off the freaking throttle and learn how to pass. Hitting me hard enough to damage a chassis and the ESC is just not right.

Doug and I were having a great night with very close racing, Doug got me in the second het by 2/100 of a second.

Doug did good tonight. You da man!

All in all a great night of racing, had a blast as usual.

I'm dying to know the results of this weeks race between Doug (Losi) and Steve (Associated). Steve didn't reply to my text and he's usually pretty fast doing that, so I'm thinking it's a back-to-back win for Doug and Team Losi.
