Theory on surgared tracks. Is the low maintenance and the track holds up to multiple race days. Also we are all in a serious drought. No one remembers that most city's will throw a fat fine your way for using more than your share. So out door sugared tracks are not the love it's the reality of business decisions that don't satisfy the mass. Look at the larger picture of why rather then think about those that want it their way. Show up and make an effort to support if you want. If not then maybe it be a wonder why you dont see any more tracks around. Sponsored by a tire company should be a no complaining no brainer especially for promoting and support.

I have no control over the surface hell I hate watering tracks no one racer never gets the same track club racing or big races the sugar works to keep the surface consistent if tracks go back to watering then the bitch in about oh u put too much water on it oh you didn't water enough also while a track is grooving up in the water process it blows out if you guys like water no traction racing why not go to modesto they have blown out loose wet track conditions. I go everywhere cuz that is not what I like I will take LSR norcal delta or Speed Factory as long as heads are there to race I'm in.

Just my 2 cents. I practiced on m4 slicks and the bite was huge. But as usual with slicks it was twitchy and hard to drive with my standard setup on my xb4. I didn't have time to switch my setup to compensate so I went to x2 scrubs and suburbs. Ran 1 battery in practice, 2 heats and the main and tires are still good for another couple runs. But next time my car will be setup for slicks. I know you're talking about 2 wheel buggy and I'm not, and I don't know enough about 2 wheel to comment on whether you need fresh tires every run. My point is tire wear wasn't bad with x2, and I believe slicks will be faster with the right setup. The only downside is the setup that works at delta probably won't work anywhere else.

Doyle, thanks for the compliment. I think.

The older I get the faster I used to be.

The layout looks like tons of fun and its obvious a lot of skilled work went into it.  The back straight is always epic and racing under the sun and then the lights is a great experience everyone should go try.  Don't let anything I say persuade you from trying it for yourself.

Doyle - I've raced sugar multiple times.  Went to cactus and raced sugar, went to delta, blah blah blah.  It's not about buying tires dude, I'm a sponsored pro-line driver, I still don't want to go out there and do nothing but glue up tires.  I went to delta last year with the bernals and nate henry, once, went through 4 sets of rears per person.  Other guys were putting on new sets every run during racing, If i want to keep up with my competition, that's what I would have to come close to doing.  That's just racing.  You go on an outdoor sugar track with slicks and everytime you turn its washout city.  Even if not, you go out with slicks, ill go out with tread, lets see whose laptimes are faster.  It's racing dude, "what works" isnt "what's best".  I'm not the only sponsored or non-sponsored person that feels this way.  It's not just about the $$.  Also, no one races on sugar anymore - name any big race still held that's on sugar?

As far as "my way or the highway"
- the one suggestion I heard other people give the deltra track...was no sugar...and that was disregarded, hence the "my way" mentality that seems to exist there.  I COULD BE WAY WRONG ON THIS, MAYBE THE LOCALS LOVE IT, I DON'T KNOW.  Honestly to me it seems like the sugar hurts your entry numbers more than it helps.  Maybe I'm wrong, wouldn't be the first time.  Just my two cents.

I don't know what you're trying to say here...
"Also each track has its own conditions you can't say ur my way or the highway dude I can't go to LSR or Norcal and say oh I don't like to use Mc or m4 compound blah blah blah either give it a shot or don't go."
But...
I've been there before, I gave it a shot and didn't like it, I asked if it was sugared again, I'm deciding not to go.
You don't need 4 sets of rears everytime you go to lsr or norcal.  I've traveled to different races more than my fair share,  I'm all for adapting to new tracks.

Why are you guys so in favor of sugaring? for club races? I don't get it.  I would love to come race on a bomb outdoor track and chill outside all day...but whats up with the love affair with sugar?  art of the reason I'm a little edgy, Is I really wanted you guys to not sugar the track, I thought it would have made for some REALLY REALLY FUN racing. Really I just wish you guys had done an outdoor dry/wet grooved up track with holeshots or something else.  Just think there was a great opportunity to do something different.  I'm sorry if anything I said came across as bashing, it wasn't my intent.  You know I got love for ya doyle.

Track is outdoors, and it gets hot on some days.  Probably makes the most sense to go with sugar.

I run bold X2 suburbs.  They have grip until the foams fall out - long time.

Sweeping the track helps a lot.

Let's do some racing this Saturday boys.

I love when outdoor season comes all the people that buy expensive crap for their toys start crying about the most important thing in this hobby TIRES like Francis said the hobby ain't cheap. But like Aaron mentioned u don't NEED new tires to run high bite the have to much grip. Me personally I'm going to try an m4 prime and an X2 slick to see what feels better. Also each track has its own conditions you can't say ur my way or the highway dude I can't go to LSR or Norcal and say oh I don't like to use Mc or m4 compound blah blah blah either give it a shot or don't go. But you will be missing out on a lot of fun. Kevin made some good points I would l8sten to him he is the fastest old guy I know lol

That's pretty reasonable. I think the best thing to do with high bite sugar tracks would be to put a slick only rule for racing to help keep the budget low.

X2's will be the tire and I don't really feel like gluing up 3-4 sets everytime I wanna go race mod buggy.  Seems like you guys are "my way or the highway", So have fun!

The sugared track makes tire choice easy. M4 proline prime slicks. They will last a long time and traction like an onroad sedan. Even when the track was green they hooked up like velcro. Just make sure you put some good foams in them because the foam will probably wear out before the tires do.

The older I get the faster I used to be.

Can someone confirm for me whether or not the track was sugared? If it was, looks like I won't be going to delta this year.
