I have a spare bomber body if anyone is looking to pass the time before we race again by doing some painting, brand new, still in the bag! Heck, I think I have a spare VTA and USGT body too! And brand new ESC and Servo and other stuff too.... starting to feel like a used car salesmen! LOL but, I gotta get rid of stuff! I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy!

Sherman, do you know when the ground pounders I-race is going to be held? I'm ready to rub some latex in three classes. I've got gigs of memory ready to do battle, so let me know, Sherman, when and where the location is for the race.

Nice, the Associated "F6" is a sweet car. No Matt was just going too fast at Speedworld and destroyed his car ...any car would have been destroyed. I won't give too much away, Matt tells the story pretty good about what happened.
--
You can always put a 21.5 in it and just turn down the throttle too (I may actually do that and swap my 25.5 for a 21.5). F1's are not easy to drive, they tend to kick out in the rear if you get on it too hard. I felt more comfortable going a bit slower until I felt comfortable w/ the car.

I picked up an Associated RC10F6. Lightly used and in really good shape. Good to know on the motor. I was going to go 21.5 based on the published rules. I may consider a 25.5 for the first few races at least.

Ruh-Roh, Matt had trouble with the Associated???

Hello Andy,
Congra'ts on getting an F1! What brand did you get? I have a Roche F1 and am running a 93 spur and 32 pinion. I have a 25.5t motor in it. Various clubs run either a 21.5 or 25.5. At the GP'ers you can run a 21.5, yet I find that to be way to fast (for me). So I have a 25.5 motor in mine w/ the above gearing. The GPer tracks tend to be more "medium" in size w/ lots of turns so I find I don't need a ton of speed but opt for handling.

Matt Senn would be a good person to ask too, he's really good and has a nice setup w/ his F1. (ask him about his 1st Team Associated car). He races at Speedworld w/ his F1 I believe, they have a much larger track so faster motor probably makes more sense there.

Hey Eric,

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. Axial just came out with a the SCX10.3 it is a pretty bad ass crawler kit. I'm right there with you on the race car over prepping. I picked up an F1 car! What final gear ratio are you running in F1?

Stay safe,
Andy

Week 4 of "Shelter in Place", -I can now say that all my cars are clean, have had shock oil replaced, diff' oil replaced, all bearings taken' out shields removed and cleaned, and every car has been put on the setup station to make sure they are all to my liking. Guess I should start re-painting the bathroom and getting to the other home projects my wife has made for me.

Eric, drag racing is not terribly complicated.....probably more for those who can't turn. A lot of it is set up. You can drive your way through a bad set up in a road race/oval.... not so much in a drag race.
