Sunday, March 1st - Warm up race - no points

Location - Driven Raceway, 4601 Redwood Drive, Rohnert Park, CA

Sign up sheets will be available trackside.

This is a members only warm-up race. You can sign up the morning of the event to become a club member. This is a no awards/trophy race - it's a warm=up race to shake off the cobwebs and have some fun!

Don't forget to bring ...a copy of your ROAR card with you as it's required to race with us. If you're attending our event for the first time, you can sign up at the track on race morning or go to ROAR's website to download the form there or choose the electronic payment option - http://roarracing.com/forms.php

Track set up starts around 6:30 AM/7:00 AM, so please come on out to lend a hand if you are able to as the sooner we are set up, the sooner we can start running practice to be able to start the first heat at 11:00 AM! Sign ups are from 9:00 - 10:30 AM.

We hope to see you there!

I took a look at both side yards. The one that will be easiest to get the trailer in and out of, is a little over 10 feet wide right at the corner of my house. The gate is set back a little and the total width there is 13 feet and will need to be 6 feet tall. I've never built a gate but I'm sure somebody in the club has done it before and can figure out how much material is needed. It would need to be redwood boards to match the rest of the fence (that is slowly but surely being replaced). The good news is that there should be no need for gravel on that side of the house. And if I don't have a chance to get to it, we'll need to remove a small tree and shrub.

I have a compressor if someone has a large nail gun and extra post hole diggers would be nice to speed things up!

The date that was proposed at the meeting was Feb 28th. If more time is needed to gather the supplies and form a work party March 7/8 would also work.

great meeting looks like we found a home for the race trailer, let all members know where and when to help with the gate. also mentioned at the meeting we will no longer have any NITRO classes, thats the way it goes, at the meeting I mentioned the I will bring up a subject of a NITRO SPRINT demo race, june, july august,a month before the race our club will vote. there are 5 known local racers that will come out to this event. I have mentioned this demo event to other out of towners. we might have up to 15 NITRO SPRINTS entered stay tuned.

The club voted on a few things last night and here were the decisions -

Race dates that were in question:

The September race will be on September 13th (to avoid Labor Day weekend.)
The July race will be on July 12th (to avoid the 4th of July weekend.)
The October night race will be on October 24th (to avoid Halloween.)

Championship points = Best of 5 races was decided.

Rain Outs - The rain out races WILL count towards the points series if the race was rescheduled from its original date.

I will update the club website and rules package as much as possible this weekend once I get the remaining information (as well as start a thread for the upcoming race on March 1st at Driven Raceway) as soon as work slows down for me a little bit in the next few days.

Gary, Bryce offered his house to park the trailer. We have to build a gate to get it into the back yard.
i think once we take it for the March race you will be golden.

Rob Burns

P.S if your doing landscape in your back yard, check out Ramm Rock & landscape supply.
528-6067. I drive their transfer. Mention my name. Should be good for a discount.
they are located at 5454 Old Redwood hwy. ( between airport and Fulton )

Has a new home been found for the trailer? The space it's in now will be occupied by two other trailers when we re-do our backyard and we're waiting until it's gone to start.

Thanks.

Hi Everyone -

Here is some additional information for the meeting this coming Tuesday (and for the 2015 season in general.)

Items for the club members to vote on at the February 17th meeting (you must be a current member to vote on the following topics and must also be present to vote) -

Race Dates (top votes will determine these select race dates) –

Sept. 6th (Memorial Day weekend) or September 13th

July 5th (4th of July weekend) or July 12th

Oct. 24th or Nov. 7th for the end of year night race

Championship Points –

We will be voting to determine if it should be “best of 5” race day results or a set number of throw outs instead.

Rain Outs –

Vote to determine if races that are “rain outs” count towards the point series.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
These is just general information and not anything to be voted upon for 2015 -

Class changes for 2015:

All nitro classes will not be offered as a part of our normal race program due to the decreasing/inconsistent entry numbers over the past few years.

SK Car with be added to our race program for 2015. We will add a link to the rules on www.rcracing.com after the meeting. The tire option will be decided upon and added after the first warm up race in March. Participants in this class will be using the first race as a test for tires and car set ups on asphalt.

VTA is being replaced with USGT (we will add the link after the meeting Tuesday.)

Mini rules to be updated – new motor rule (we will add the link after the meeting Tuesday)

Clarification on three topics for the 2015 season:

Exhibition Classes – If people have an idea for an exhibition class they would like to run this season for one race day they should bring the topic up to the board and then it will be discussed and voted upon at a general meeting. If approved, the club will work the exhibition class in to the race schedule for an upcoming race day.

Four to make a class clarification:

There has been a slight misinterpretation of this rule the last few years, so we thought it best to clarify at the beginning of the race season. “Four to make a class” refers only to the established classes already approved by the club for our normal race days (this goes along with the exhibition class notes.) If there are approved upon classes on race day that have less than 4 cars sign up the board members will make the determination of how to handle the class (allow them to run or cut the race from that day.)

Race day entries:

The board has decided to allow up to four entries per participant on a race day as long as corner marshal responsibilities are being handled. It is up to the club member to arrange for this coverage. We will also be asking for assistance announcing during the day for those wishing to sign up for an additional class. This has been a loose rule for the past few years, so we thought we should clarify further.

The first race of the year will be at Driven Raceway on March 1st.  It is a club member only race (you can sign up trackside) as well as a non-trophy/plaque race - it is truly designed as a warm-up race for the season for everyone to get their cars dialed in and some track time.  We will post up full details after the meeting on Tuesday (normal start times for us, etc.)

See you guys soon!!!
