Are there still some volunteers to help with fabricating a fence  on Saturday so we can store the trailer at my place in Rohnert Park?

I propose that we only set the two main posts this Saturday (dig two holes and set the two posts in concrete) then hang the gates and remove my old fence the following weekend, The trailer can stay in my driveway for a week or so until the gates are finished.

Any volunteers to grab the materials? I'm thinking a couple pressure treated 4x6" posts and some concrete will support the large gates.

Anyone have post hole diggers?

Bryce

That's right, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, racers of ages. The Ground Pounders warm-up race is this Sunday, March 1st, at Driven Raceway. It's time to dust off those cobwebs, charge up those batteries, sauce the tires, and fit that new painted body to the chassis and lay down some laps. Come on out and help setup the track, and sign ups begin at 9:00am, practice begin around the same time as sign ups and I will try to have a controlled practice so that everyone has a chance to practice.

Also, the club is allowing a maximum of four entries per driver. That means you can race in four on road classes or three on road and one oval class or two on road and two oval classes or four oval classes. If you are in back to back races you need to have someone to corner marshal for you.

We are also looking for some public speakers, those who can announce a race once or twice on race days. Please, give it a try so I can rest my voice and spare those of you having to hear me all day long. Hope to see you out there on Sunday, Sunday, Sunday March 1st at Driven Raceway.

Gordon.

Sunday, March 1st - Warm up race - no points

Location - Driven Raceway, 4601 Redwood Drive, Rohnert Park, CA

Sign up sheets will be available trackside.

This is a members only warm-up race. You can sign up the morning of the event to become a club member. This is a no awards/trophy race - it's a warm=up race to shake off the cobwebs and have some fun!

Don't forget to bring ...a copy of your ROAR card with you as it's required to race with us. If you're attending our event for the first time, you can sign up at the track on race morning or go to ROAR's website to download the form there or choose the electronic payment option - http://roarracing.com/forms.php

Track set up starts around 6:30 AM/7:00 AM, so please come on out to lend a hand if you are able to as the sooner we are set up, the sooner we can start running practice to be able to start the first heat at 11:00 AM! Sign ups are from 9:00 - 10:30 AM.

We hope to see you there!

I took a look at both side yards. The one that will be easiest to get the trailer in and out of, is a little over 10 feet wide right at the corner of my house. The gate is set back a little and the total width there is 13 feet and will need to be 6 feet tall. I've never built a gate but I'm sure somebody in the club has done it before and can figure out how much material is needed. It would need to be redwood boards to match the rest of the fence (that is slowly but surely being replaced). The good news is that there should be no need for gravel on that side of the house. And if I don't have a chance to get to it, we'll need to remove a small tree and shrub.

I have a compressor if someone has a large nail gun and extra post hole diggers would be nice to speed things up!

The date that was proposed at the meeting was Feb 28th. If more time is needed to gather the supplies and form a work party March 7/8 would also work.

great meeting looks like we found a home for the race trailer, let all members know where and when to help with the gate. also mentioned at the meeting we will no longer have any NITRO classes, thats the way it goes, at the meeting I mentioned the I will bring up a subject of a NITRO SPRINT demo race, june, july august,a month before the race our club will vote. there are 5 known local racers that will come out to this event. I have mentioned this demo event to other out of towners. we might have up to 15 NITRO SPRINTS entered stay tuned.

The club voted on a few things last night and here were the decisions -

Race dates that were in question:

The September race will be on September 13th (to avoid Labor Day weekend.)
The July race will be on July 12th (to avoid the 4th of July weekend.)
The October night race will be on October 24th (to avoid Halloween.)

Championship points = Best of 5 races was decided.

Rain Outs - The rain out races WILL count towards the points series if the race was rescheduled from its original date.

I will update the club website and rules package as much as possible this weekend once I get the remaining information (as well as start a thread for the upcoming race on March 1st at Driven Raceway) as soon as work slows down for me a little bit in the next few days.
