How many do you need, Art? I have a Corally SP12X a "T" bar car, an SP12L a link car, a CRC GEN XL a wide pod chassis, and a GEN X "alter ego". If someone wanted to run 12th scale, I could lone a ride for the day, I'd have to see if I have enough tires and batteries for that day though. They would have to supply the receiver if they wanted to run is all. Maybe Joe would run his 12th scale as well. Also, Steve, aka bad boy, has a 12th scale maybe he would run his car as well. That"s what eight right now as possibles entries for a class. That sound like the old days again when Crash Baby, Old Purple, and the rest of the pan car experts would run the Ground Pounder events. Let me know and I'll bring the cars with me on September the 7th.

Gordon.

The schedule has no onroad at Norcal on the 24th Gordon.  Unless you are racing offroad.

Ok Chris, I hope you can. Your 12th scale you bought, the one with the wide pod. I've had a top deck made, I'll have to show you it when I see ya. I was going to run Speedworld tomorow, but I'm racing Nor Cal tomorow so I'll miss the race at Speedworld if your going to race there.

Kevin O.- Eric V. thought of racing oval along with their regular on road classes. I said 17.5 NR oval or 13.5 NR oval would be good classes to run. Maybe Street Stock as well. What do you think?

I updated the info. on the site to show it as 36 oz/1020 grams on those two classes (17.5 and 13.5 oval).

Nitro oval = 8 minute main.

Only other thing is that the race is Septembet 7th and novice entry fees are waived at this race (ROAR membership is still required.)

I'll start another race day specific thread this week once I have a little more time.

The club had it's general meeting last night and there are some thing I need to clear up.

First, the weight rule for the 17.5 NR oval and 13.5 NR oval class. No were in the club rules is the weight for 17.5 NR oval and 13.5 NR oval listed. So, as of this September race and the rest of the season the weight for both 17.5 NR oval and 13.5 NR oval will be 36 oz. or 1020.58 g.

Second, the MINI motor rule. This past April Tamiya TCS rules were changed. The motor rule was changed to allow 21.5 brushless motors with timing adjustment and blinky ESC. The club voted to keep the use of the Johnson silver can motor through the remainder of the season, and change to the 21.5 brushless motor next season.

Third, the featured classes for September. The two classes featured are Nitro oval and 17.5 NR oval. Oh, someone help, I lost the time we had or was it laps for Nitro oval? Anyway, for 17.5 NR oval the A main they will run a total of 125 laps.

Forth, suspension on the Rally cars. It was brought to the attention of the members who run Rally cars that all four of the shock binds when compressed. The solution is the little addapter that comes with the spares kit in the box. It's a small part that attaches to the shock tower to move the top of the shock away from the tower. The club voted to install the part along withthe longer button head fastner (3 x 12 or 14 mm bolt) on the cars and that it be part of the Rally rules.

This goes out to Art, Chris D. moved up to Oreville so he may not make the ground pounders races. He will run at speedworld since thats closer to his home.

If I have missed something , shout it out and I will enlighten you.

Gordon.

Hope to see you out with us again Rich (and that your back is feeling much better now!)  Nice seeing Ryan out with us again as well for this race - oh, and I heard Eric Falk did as great as we thought he would having to be combined in the 17.5 class since we didn't have a novice class on Sunday (very nice guy and nice to see it worked out so well.)

See all of you soon!

i want to thank groundpounders for a well run race. i am sorry that I had to leave before the mains. I fell down while corner marshalling the first main, aND REALLY TWISTED MY BACK. tHANK YOU mike for packing my stuff up and getting it in the car for me. I couldnt have done it. I did make it home ok. As for the motor, the person with the d-3.5 could hAve driven almost as fast with just about any other motor out there. He really is a class act, and if you need any help, just ask him, and he will give it.

The class uses car like Tamiya, Team Losi, or Team Associated 4wd sedans (No home-built's). Off the shelf upgrades are allowed. Rubber tires only, No foam tires. Only 2 cell Roar approved LiPos, 17.5 Roar approved brushless motors, Roar approved Speed Controls set in Blinky Mode allowed. Cars must meet the Roar minimum weight to be allowed to race (1380grams) (Sportsman and Expert Racers) ***The use of the 17.5 Trinity D3.5 brushless motor is approved to run in both 17.5 NR Oval and 17.5 NR Sedan the rest of this 2014 race season.

Had a blast today in 17.5 nr sedan some good clean racing.. Wanted to give a shout out and tip my hat to the couple of novice drivers that were forced to run because there was no class for sportsman.both heats of 17.5 were very clean and the slower cars did an awesome job of just moving to the outside and letting the faster car go. That's an expert driver in my book!! Also just one small question don't want to start a firestorm just makes me scratch my head.. What exactly is an illegal motor for 17.5? A motor on the roar ban list? A motor banned at all other 17.5nr races? Just wondering.. Because a trinity d3.5 is banned at any other track.. It has a larger rotor than normal. It's basically a 15.5 which explains why only one car in the mains could even get into the 9s and that particular car ran 9 second laps the entire race.. Only ran slower than 9 seconds a handful of laps..
