Just a reminder no fireworks permitted at location. Please do not bring high wattage halogen lights for your pit area since the generators will not take the load.Let's all have a safe and fun race night.

Not contradictory at all, it's all about intent. Knowingly running an illegal car or deliberately hitting someone vs. accidentaly using unapproved equipment or running out of talent at an inopertune time.

Big difference!!

A lot of us are in your same situation though. Time/energy/motivation/budget, these are all constraining factors that make running in the top flight classes so difficult.

Why do you think the low tech, low maintenance, low running costs, but sky high fun factor of the three Traxxas based classes are so popular?

My advice; sell that pricey, fragile sedan, get a RallyCross car and come join the fun!

Alright, I'm going to completely change the topic towards the next race coming up -

Saturday, July 5th at Driven Raceway (night Race) - Featured Class - Stock Slash

Set up begins at 11:00 AM

Registration will be open from 12:00 - 3:30 PM

Racing to begin at 4:00 PM.

****Novice class entry fees are free at this event (ROAR membership is still required though.)

The RCFIA group will be coming to this event as one of the stops along their tour, so we should see some great racing.

ROAR membership is required for all racers, so please be sure to bring your current cards with you, otherwise you can sign up online ahead of time at www.roarracing.com (or trackside during registration.)

This is the time of year that club membership fees are due as well (again, something that can be done trackside that morning.)  $12/single - $18/family

Hope everyone makes it out - this should be a fun one!!

Just my 2 cents.. Not trying to start a war.. I don't even race rc cars anymore I wish I had more time to do so.. Ground pounders is easy for me to go to because it's local but it's so disheartening to have to rebuild the car every time I race just to put it back on the shelf.

I get that they are "toy cars" and I get that it's hard to add another race to already too long race program I don't understand how you guys keep preaching that it's a "club race" and then say tech needs to be stricter.. Hahaha contradicting comments.. And I get that any race can turn into a hack fest regardless of the quality of drivers.. It's just frustrating when you put all the time and effort into making your car good.. Not even to mention all the money invested. And you continuously get taken out by back markers. Especially when it's the same person over and over. I am very thankful for the people that got me into rc racing and I was always taught to stop and let the person go and at least say sorry. It's especially disheartening when the person taking you out is multiple laps down that is where my argument for having expert and sportsman come into play.

"The GP Club is lucky to have people like you travel in and enjoy our local club racing scene. You run clean, stay calm and positive, have stood tall over the test of time ... "

I enthusiastically second that....

I hope my decision on this motor issue answers all question.

Chris, since I did not tech the top three cars after the 17.5 NR race, and NO formal protest was filed with the race directer, you will recieve first place points, period. In the up coming races I will tech the top three cars in each class.

Joe, what will be the penalty for an illegal motor? We can follow the ROAR rules or if the car in question has an illegal motor then my decision is that the driver will lose the points for that race and as a penalty miss the next month race.

Remember, this is a culb that is a place to HAVE FUN with your friends racing little cars.

Gordon.

Just my personal opinion here, not reping the club, just a local racer jumping in ....

Mr. Dodson: I'm sorry that this ever got to a public forum. The GP Club is lucky to have people like you travel in and enjoy our local club racing scene. You run clean, stay calm and positive, have stood tall over the test of time ... (sounds cheesy, but true)

All: The GP Club is in a transition stage and is coming around quickly. Tech will bounce back and I'm sure the club will handle things correctly for the remainder of the season. Rough racing and driver conduct got handled quickly and firmly, this will be no different.

If the club would like, I will gladly offer to tech the top three cars in every class if we need to.  I have all the equipment and have experience handling tech at large events....

I also encourage any racer at anytime to tech my cars, Blake's cars, or the cars of ANY of my team guys.

I certainly hope we never find anyone cheating, but, if we do what will be the penalty?

Can't wait for the next race!  The RCFIA Gran Primo D’Sonoma!!!

Oh and I have a trickkkkk new ESC to run in the 13.5 oval car!   Seriously, it's ridiculously awesome!  Like, if STLNLST was here he'd have to slap himself!

GORDON AND GROUND POUNDER CREW,I'd like to first thank you for the venue to run our rc cars.I sincerely apologize for any cheating or trouble I've caused.Gordon, when we spoke of this,I asked you to disqualify my car.I'd still like you to disqualify my car.Matt Sen made a extremely good point at the drivers meeting before the race;THESE ARE TOY CARS.He's exactly right!Once Kevin Ozman e-mailed me to state the motor I was running was illegal,I emailed him back stating ok but I didn't worry about it because I had purchased the motor from him some years back.I believe he raced it at Norcal's indoor on-road track,in the 1/12th scale class. In fact after my second heat,Kevin looked at the motor himself and stated it was legal at that time.Evidently it bothered him and he researched the color code on the can of the motor I had run in the 17.5 NR touring car class, later that evening after the races.Whatever the case,Gordon, please disqualify me from that race.Again, the last thing I wanted to create was controversy, concerns or any other problems that may have caused unnecessary issues.Again,I thank the GROUND POUNDER CREW for the venue to enjoy our "TOY CARS" and I'm looking forward to racing with you guys again.
