The culb has not talked about the 12th scale class since mini replaced that class three years ago. The class just dried up. Talk to Joe and Blake at P1 and see if they would like to run their cars on the 16th. I have a Mod 12th, scale and the last time I ran it was at the old Nor Cal track. If you have 3 or more cars you can run.

The Ground Pounders have updated the VTA rules to allow open gearing, an open mah 2 cell hard case ROAR approved battery, and the approved bodies from the VTA rules. As of the last meeting the VTA GT class was not brought up. If you have 3 or more cars, I don't know if we would run them with regular class or have it as a demonstration class, so other racers could see if that would be a class to run. This rain out has allowed me the time to finish the TOP F1 and repair the shocks on the bomber car. I'm ready for some track time.

Think paper clip oval for this place, with lots of character in the surface. It's a narrow track, set-up is important as oval corner speed is a must. The road course is on the tighter side, but usually has good flow. Overall, the surface is old school and has a few bumps. Ultra low ride height is usually not fast here. Track location: 404 Aviation Blvd. Santa Rosa, CA 95403 The Ground Pounder Club races are held in the front parking lot of the Sonoma Water Agency off Aviation Blvd. View Larger Map

101 north through Santa Rosa, continue to Fulton road exit, north on Fulton to Airport Blvd, left on Airport over the freeway then right on Aviation (first light past freeway). We're in the parking lot to the left in front of the Water Agency building.

We run both on road and oval.

Set up starts at 7, sign ups close at 10-ish, racing starts at 11-ish

Does the 'two week later rain out race' also apply to this warm up?

The board met last night to go over some issues. One was weather issues.

When it comes to weather concerns, check the current conditions and check the Ground Pounders web site under the face book link and rc racing for updates on if the race will be cancelled. If the rain is falling and there is no chance of the weather changing, then the race will be called off by 10:00 am. When a race is called the make-up race date will be two weeks from that weekend.

The club is trying to be flexible but remember that generators, and other things are ordered ahead of time and the club is billed for that days use of the items. So, hopefully the call to cancel the race won't happen. Kevin you got my number, so call if concerned.

For this weekend, it's looking good with clearing by Saturday night and skies opening on Sunday morning. The race is at the water agency off airport blvd.

Gordon.
