The Airport Blvd exit off north bound 101 is closed so you'll have to get off at Fulton and turn left at the light (Airport), over the freeway and right on Aviation.

March 2nd - warm up race (non-points)

Location - Water Agency/Airport Business Park (404 Aviation Blvd., Santa Rosa, CA, 95403)

Are you ready to shake those cobwebs off of your cars??!!  We're looking forward to seeing everyone again and kicking the year off with some fun and competitive racing.

You can fill out your sign up sheet ahead of time - http://groundpounders.zomix.com/files/Editable.Copy%20of%20GPSIGNUPSHEET2013%20Sheet1.pdf or, if preferred, you can also fill out a form the morning of the race from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM trackside.

Don't forget to bring a copy of your ROAR card with you as it's required to race with us.  If you're attending our event for the first time, you can sign up at the track on race morning or go to ROAR's website to download the form there or choose the electronic payment option - http://www.roarracing.com/?page_id=16

2014 updated rules can be found here - http://www.thegroundpounders.com/2014_Club_Rules.cfm

I think that's it....anything else, post up here and someone will respond as soon as they are able!

Track set up starts around 6:30 AM/7:00 AM, so please come on out to lend a hand if you are able to as the sooner we are set up, the sooner we can start running practice to be able to start the first heat at 11:00 AM!

Tatoomike, Novice class is pretty open as far as the vehicle type but we recommend 2s lipo or 6 cell round cell packs and 'stock' brushed motors and 17.5 or higher (numerically) brushless.

ok thanks, i was making sure ,because roar you can run a 12.5 rotor, but usvta only 12.3 rotor. We know the rest of the tracks have been using the usvta rules.

Kevin,

I spoke to Gary and said that I would like to run the USVTA rules. That means running the 5000am battery, the Novak 25.5 VTA motor, the stock ESC in blinky mode, the HPI tires and rims, and the 1550g wieght limit.

I BELIEVE the USVTA but Gordon has the rule package. I'm sure he'll see this and answer

Last nights meeting was productive but quick.

*Young Mr. DeVries will be submitting a design or two for a sticker to be available shortly after approval.

* The '56 Chevy and '56 Ford bodies were tentatively approved for the Bomber class subject to wind tunnel testing and making sure they'll all fit similarly.

* The 'lower center of gravity' chassis for the Slash and Bomber classes were not approved for this year's racing unless or until the production Slash comes with it installed.

*The new Mini class will continue to be for 2wd cars. If enough 4wd show up on race day a separate class will be run.

*Increasing the gear ratio of the Bombers was discussed. Two of last year's racers were okay with leaving it at 19/90 but were willing to try a higher ratio at the warm up race. Since the class is meant to be 'spec' and they're on the verge of turtling most every lap bumping up the ratio may make it racing more difficult.... or fun.

*Free races for Novices was approved. The ROAR membership at the first race was mentioned as a possible roadblock to some younger racers participating. Some ideas were passed around that will be discussed at the next meeting

The Petaluma Hobby Show is Feb 15th.... Need a couple folks to man the table during the day. It's great fun but I have a wedding later in the day and can't stay. Bryce will be there for part of the day... how about you?

Next meeting is Feb 18th(I think) at the RP Round Table, 7:30

Our normal location has closed after all of these years - kind of a shame after all of that remodeling they were doing!  (at least that is what I have heard from calling around a bit real quick this morning.)

Tuesday, January 21st - meeting location - Round Table - 6314 Commerce Blvd, Rohnert Park - 7:30 PM (in the smaller King Arthur room in the back)

Tuesday, February 18th - meeting location - Round Table - 6314 Commerce Blvd, Rohnert Park - 7:30 PM (in the smaller King Arthur room in the back)

The Santa Rosa location on Marlow Road is looking at the rest of the year for us to see if all of the dates will work and I'll let you all know in the upcoming weeks - they seemed to think the rest of the year was fine, but they were booked for Jan/Feb.

I look forward to seeing all of you next week.

Amy

Thanks Guys!

I've got a racer donating a chassis and some other stuff .... Not sure how much yet, so anything you guys wanna donate (drop off at the shop) will find it's way to the new guys (or back to you if it's doubled up)

I have some support equipment I could let go for cheap.

Tire truer, some motors with life left in them, etc.
