I'm bringing two buckets of sand. We can use as much of it as we want to clean up. I'm thinking two turns. Should be fun.

AHHHH... Ralley is running on dirt for the main? Should be interesting to watch. Whos cleaning up the dirt after the race is over?

I think I'm ready for some VTA racing, some 17.5 NR oval, some 55 bomber racing, and maybe some 17.5 NR on road.

Gordon.

Thanks Guys!!

This is super helpful, ...I think on the GP website the fact that only a featured class was listed kind of threw me off a bit!

I do have a valid ROAR membership.

Also, I am totally fine running in a novice class for my first event(s) to kind of gauge where I am at. ...I have raced competitively over the years, but not the last couple. Mostly practice and casual running/racing at SR Place to Play track (my SC truck) and Nor-Cal Hobbies (Mini and SC Truck).

I have an Ofna H4 1/10 touring on order ...so once I get that built up I'll join in the touring/sedan class. -yet probably not have it built 'til later in the year.

Yet for now will bring my SC truck + Mini

Can't wait,

Looks like Oct 6th is the next event. I am taking my dad flying that day, ...yet it isn't set in stone. So if that falls through I may be there to race w/ you guys. Otherwise the later Oct event for sure.

Thanks! (glad I found out your club). I will review the class rules in more details as well as this thread ...will let you know if I have questions about setup (i.e. what motors, esc's, etc I should use).

Hi Er1c...

We run a full schedule every race but have nice tropies and usually a longer race for the featured classes. We switched F1 for Rally Cars this race since there was a big F1 race earlier in the year. VTA is also featured.

We run the classes listed below and a novice class for beginning racers (not sayin' you are...just don't know who's reading this)

Borris is correct that you do have to be a ROAR member to race, memberships are available at the race if your not already a member.

Come out and race!!!!!

They run many classes, including nitro sedan, 17.5 sedan, nitro oval, sprint oval, bomber slash class, and a traxxas rally class, as well as mini, and of course f1 and vta.  Just show up, i think you only need to be a roar member to race.  Gp memberships arent required.

Hello,

I am interested in racing at the next event? I read on the GP website that there is a featured class at each race, does that mean that is the only class that is raced that day? I think the next race is F1 and VTA, ...I don't have an F1 and not sure i'll be able to set up my touring car for VTA by the next race. ..also, I have a ROAR membership, ...how do I go about getting a GP membership? -Do I have to attend a meeting, or can I get one at a race?

also, not sure if this is the best place to post these questions, the website didn't have a forum that I could find.

thanks, look forward to racing with you guys at some point in the near future. eric.

I forgot to bring this up at the meeting...... our regular Round Table will be undergoing a re-model so out regular room won't be available. Amy has arranged for us to meet at the Round Table in Rohnert Park on Commerce Drive. We'll probably be there till January

Same Bat-time, same Bat channel!

Please pass the word!!!!!!

Sunday, Aug 4th!!!! The longest race in the Ground Pounder schedule, this event is full of close racing, fuel strategy, pit stops, tire wear...just like the real thing. it IS the real thing, just smaller! There are only ten positions so make sure you get there and make it into the A main.

The location is the 'water agency' lot, 404 Aviation Blvd, north of Santa Rosa. North on 101 to Fulton Rd. (the Airport exit is closed), left on Airport, over the freeway, right on Aviation.

Set up starts at 7 AM, sign ups close at 10, racing begins at 11. Roar membership required.

This year's trophies will similar to this one...... Click on the pic for the full photo.

I wont be at the Aug 4th race so someone needs to pick up the generators Sunday morning @ 8 AM and return them Monday AM.

Amy volunteered Eric to get the trophies @ Crown in Petaluma.

Thanks Gary O
