Let's discuss this at the next general meeting.

Peppy, great to hear from you, looks like Sunday is a boat race and not an on road race.

Vintage Rules with a 17.5 blinky and a  2 cell would be cool.  sounds like a fun class either way.

Go with a Cirtix Combo 17.5 or 13.5 esc and motor with no timming anything!  Its just gear ratio and driving that will be the factor.  sorry for budding in!

Gary, my hope was to have a spec class that an driver could enter and run. However, it seem that this spec class is becoming an 13.5 ramped open ESC expert class. By running a non ramping ESC and zero timing on the end plate the racing would more side by side racing instead of having two or three divers running away from the pack.

How about this, a Vintage class with driver or not any 13.5 motor with fixed or zero timing on the end plate, a non ramping ESC, 3.8 to 4.0 final drive, 5300 maximum mah 1s or 2s battery, 1450g minimum weight, rubber tires 32 to 36 shire, open to sportsmen to expert drivers, and heats and mains would be five minutes long.

Aren;t the Sprint-Cars are running 13.5, blinky .... That's purty fast! Granted, the rubber tires will slow things down a lot, but like Gordon says the tires will be the most expensive part of running the class. Maybe 17.5 would be a better choice?

My vote is for 13.5, no timing, any ratio, I like the Trans Am idea.....

If you make it easy enough for a novice, will the regular racers be interested?

I like the Vintage rules but, the tires are the draw back. If the 13.5 motor is to be used, then no timing on the end plate.

Rob, that sound better than runnig an oval body, and you want to run the HPI tires and wheels? I think we will be going through tires and wheels faster then runnig rubber tires.

Greg, we could run a 13.5 motor, but would'nt that be a littel fast for the Novice driver? I was looking to have a class that anyone novice as well as expert could run.

The intent was to get away from cutting the foam tires and run pre mounted rubber tires that will last a season. That way the spec tire will not change in diameter through out the race season. I had suggested 21.5 motor but that was shot down in favor of the 17.5 motor.

With a 17.5NR, couldn't you just about go full throttle around the turns? espaecially on one cell. How about bumpimng it up to 13.5? and maybe foams?
