A fine day of racing. The temperature was a little warm, but all in all the day went well. I would like to thank those of you who stuck it out and helped with tear down of the track. I have finished the new points total and their are a few close races.

Leading the Oval truck class is James Jointer by seventeen points over Chuck Medford, with Rob Burns ninety eight points behind Chuck.

55 Bomber has Gordon Hedemark leading by nine points over Sherman Wong, and Steve Martin Sr. Ninety three points behind Sherman.

The thirteen point five Spec class has James Joiner leading Kevin Osman by five points and Chuck Mofford in third seven points behind Kevin.

Thirteen point five Cup class has a run away. Kevin Osman has a one hundred and four point lead over Don Fredrick, and David Fredrick is ninety three points behind his brother.

The next class, seventeen point five Sprints, has only two results and Blake Cannon is leading by one point over Chuck Mofford and Chuck two points in front of Jason Levy.

Mini is  the next class. Gordon Hedemark is leading Eric Falk by eighty four points and Steve Martin Sr. Is in third twenty-one points behind Eric.

Seventeen point five NR Sedan has James Joiner leading Kyle Gilson by twelve points and Matt Sent in third just ninety-six points back of Kyle.

Euro Truck has an error, it should read Brian Gilson in first and Eric Falk just eleven points back and Steve Martin Sr. fifteen points behind Eric.

USGT is the next class, with Matt Kidd in front with Kyle Gilson sixteen points back and an error in the third place spot should be Mike Ramsey in stead of Arthur Knight.

Next up is Spec Rally, and it has run only one race and there is a tie for the lead the between Frank Buono and Matt Sent and in third just two points back is Chris Schattie

The last class is Stock Slash and Chris Schattie is leading Joe B. Williams by six points and Brian Jones in third just one point behind Joe.

I see my mistakes and will change them and have a new print out to post on Jake's bulletin board by Wednesday night. Thanks to all who came out, take September off and we will see you at Les Shuab the first weekend in October. We will have our monthly meeting on September the nineteenth at the Mountain Mike's pizza parlor in Rohnert Park at seven thirty pm.

Thanks again for supporting the Ground Pounders rc club.

The weather looks great for this Sunday, in the low to mid 80tys. That's right, this Sunday instead of the first Sunday in September, because that would mean we'd be racing on Labor day. The featured class is 55 Bomber which will run for 125 laps!!!!!! Oh, yea, Blake, Jake has his Bomber sitting on his self maybe you barrow his truck. LLOL... Only three race days left this season, if you are in the points race you better show up or fall further behind.

See you on Sunday!, Sunday!!, Sunday !!!

The next race will be at Driven raceway in Rohnert Park this Sunday. That's right the club has changed the race date to August 27th instead of the first Sunday in September which is Labor day. The points race is close in five classes, so if you are in the points, show up. I will be running 55 Bomber, Mini, and Euro Truck. Hope to see you on Sunday.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls the ground pounders points race is posted at Jake's hobby shop. Some close points spread in a lot of the classes. In 17.5 winged sprints there is only two results and in Spec rally has one results. If you have any questions or disputes on the points total let me know. There are three races let and with two throw outs the results could be shaken up. I will send a copy to Amy so it can be posted on the clubs Web site.

Dave and i were talking and few others, trying to figure out why the grip level got worse and worse, one thing i do know is these crc tires seem to hold dirt alot more than say sedan type rubber, our thoughts were thinking that the misting between rounds maybe have been a factor with the oval grip going from a 4-5 to a 1-2 by main. My stuff was killer both rounds them main came and i never could get to even 3/4 throttle in the straights and waiting a long time to even get to that point and still getting excessive wheel speed.
The wind picking up blowing the direction is does off the mountains prolly was dusting the track more and the extra secret sauce actually attracted the dirt more.
It is the same for everyone and the racers we are just deal, but it does make for lousy racing overall for everyone.
In the past when we all ran foam,it would help the grip and extra spray in the am during drivers meeting, but now that 2 or the 3 premier oval classes are rubber, maybe next time just normal spray in the am with maybe light dust if sun is out after last practice?
The month prior at windsor was actually quite good all day,so not totally sure why this time was different,we all know what the issue was the very first race there.
Hopefully when we go back in Oct. we can lock down the grip consistency or at least figue out the why? Thanks Sherman you do a fantastic job helping the club, the post was not a blame just thinking what we may have thought contributed to the lousy oval grip?
