The board meeting was last night and four of the members were there. We discussed the names for the new classes and here's what we voted for. First, the Oval class and Novice will remain unchanged, 55 Bomber is unchanged, 17.5 Truck is unchanged, and the name change for 13.5 spec will be known as 13.5 spec cup. The rules for this class follow the rules for the 10.5 cup cars that we had last year, the only change is the motor which will be 13.5. The next class will be the 13.5 ramped expert class which will remain unchanged, and our new addition the 17.5 winged sprint cars. All for the exception of two class, that being 55 Bomber and 17.5 Truck, will run four minute heats and mains. The Bomber class and 17.5 Truck will run five minute heats and mains. Unless the class is a featured race in which case it will run longer. Weights will be as printed and or found on the GP Web site.

For On Road, the classes are as follows, Novice, Mini, USGT, the new addition to the on road class Euro Truck, then 17.5 TC, Stock Slash, then Spec Rally. Novice will run for four minutes , Mini, Euro Truck, Spec Rally, Stock Slash will run five minute heats and mains, and USGT, and 17.5 TC will run five minute heats and six minute mains. I will see if there is a weight rule for Euro Truck, if there is I will post it.

We are looking at nearly 90 minutes for each round including demonstration classes, so we are asking you the drivers to be ready as soon as one race ends the next should start. If you are in back to back races, you need someone to corner Marshall for you, so when the two minutes ends we will be racing. If you can not find someone, you will be dock a lap from your qualifing time. I am hoping to start racing at 10:30 am so we can end around 5 o'clock.

This Sunday is the postponed warm up race at Driven Raceway, hopefully the race gods are with us so we can race. April 2 is the first points race and the featured classes are 17.5 winged sprints, and Spec rally. Three drivers makes a class, so invite your friends if they want to race. We also discussed the position for the transponder on the Euro Trucks. If you plan on using a house transponder ream a hole in the back of the cab window so that the transponder will be safe from damage. If you have any questions post up and I will try and answer them. If there is a chance of moisture, I call the race off by Saturday at 2 o'clock.

So, fingers crossed let's hope for sunny day's ahead.

Gordon.

Found it on page 3. This one from Jan 20th

"Rubber tire info for truck and 13.5 spec guy's- I had 60 runs on spec tires- the only 17.5 truck to go 70 at delta ,that was on run 55 or so.. and there still just as fast as the 3rd run.. so hell yeah on 13.5 spec going to rubber crc spec tire" - Kevin

proxy voting is a great idea.  However it was all the oval guys that raised there hands for oval rules. Three were hesitant but it was unanimous.   Gordon tried many times to contact you prior to vote for your opinion and stated that in the meeting so he used your quote from Jan. Supporting the rules change.   "Fact" the quote right in this forum which was posted two weeks before the vote.  Sooooo........

we know the facts bud, sure wished the GP club would add proxy voting, and only oval racers that support the classes, same as onroad racers.. as far as adds, changes .
also get the voting in and done, not a few weeks before a warm up.
Alot more productive and getting correct info .

ok I edited this post (which is something I never do) to not have it pollute the gp thread anymore than it has been.  I'll be racing Sunday with you if you would like to imply I'm a liar to my face.   Racing will be great at gp as always and  we all look forward to a great season.

Side note all rules were were voted on by members at member meetings.   That's how gp has always worked even the last 17 years. Remember I'm only one vote

All oval races on this planet are 4 mins.. quit trying to change stuff.  13.5 is a 4 min class
what add time to the day.. what happens in 5 is going to happen in 4.. same result

Blake do you relize who you're talking to? come on..
heat is never an issue runtime is never an issue,
We were allready lied to about the rubber tire BS that majority of the guy's who support the class at gp and delta wanted to keep it foam like it should be . I can list names, but it's pointless now, proxy voting needs to be implemtmeted and guy's that support the oval classes should have the say so that way majority gets what they really want.
I'll be there, doesnt matter to me 4 or 5 same outcome as usual.. just like its been the past 17 years..
Do what you want guy's.. make it 10 mins 15 mins,

Why 4min in spec 13.5?  At lap 61 4:50 into the main Joiner ran the fastest lap of the event last weekend.  I want my moneys worth and everyone i've talked to feels the same.  if your worried about heat gear appropriately.  Mine was only 140 after 75 laps or 6min 10 sec.

5 min!  If there's one thing I love it's not racing 4min.   I mean technology didn't go forward so we could sit in the past.  Hell run 8, 12th scale does...........oh wait j wanna get home before Monday lol.
What about grand nationals like it was in the 80's!  Just kidding 13.5 spec and 13.5 cup are just fine.   Maybe someday we'll get some corporate sponsors (in n out spec)! Lol

Class Names:
13.5 Spec

13.5 Cup

Easy!

Changing ORT to 4 minutes is quite honestly a silly idea that does nothing for anyone.  These trucks can easily run much longer than that. Much longer.

13.5 Spec should also be at least 5 minutes.

Give racers more for their money!  Not less.

13.5 Cup I could see being 4 minutes since it's basically a Mod class and motors will definitely be pushed to the limit.
