HAPPY LOBOR DAY.. looks like theres a race Sunday 9/11,same place same time.set up 7am..I will not make it to help .sooo we need 18 bottles of soda. Mug root beer at food max is the cheapest, Gordon what was the other stuff? also as for applying on the soda you can poke a hole on bottom and spray, no puddles please, we have pros that know what to do,also the track will be cool as the weather has been cooling down at night,so alittle soda will go along way, otherwise mention on here if you want to come by and get sprayers from me.we will also need, cordless drill with 7/16nut driver to assemble/diassemble the track . 5 extra gallons of gas for our genorators. tapers thoughout the day to keep up with the track condtions.KEVIN thanks for keeping the OVAL crowd alive,It is fun for me to watch the driving, the work, the speeds these little cars can genarate.as you all know it take time/money and precission to drive these cars fast and not fly off the track, some driver endure the excitment and pain (maybe a win) and some just need a brake. the on-road car count has been doing fine, also the ROOKIES too, they are applying there SKILLS (they know not to wreck to finish the race) as the tracks in our area (60 miles apart) try to get it together to increase car counts, I see it diffacult for the want to go anywhere else, we as a club we always have a venue once a month, not for money but to have a good time doing it we benifit from it the way we are, a good r/c club , SOOOO THANKS TO ALL THAT HELP US...I WILL SEE YA AT THE next one

OK, a week from this Sunday is the Ground Pounders race. I have a SK car that I am going to run in practice with rubber tires so that you who have SK cars can see the difference in the tires.

I am going to run the Bomber class, as well as the Mini class, and also the USGT class. Matt, if you want to run your car that weekend, I will announce some of the races for the club.

See you on race day.

Ok...... I'm a GP member too and have been racing there since 96'.  Car counts are indicative to the ease of entry into a class.  look at slash oval and 17.5 truck.....good consistent car count and oh so slow.  Competitive rules packages build car count.  Put sk on rubber tire so they actually work and ill bet it goes huge!  I love being proved wrong so I hope it works out with the ramping thing but attention would be better placed on a more inclusive class.

GP oval guy's talk to one another,SK is most likely going away ,so that leaves some going back to another class.
at this point with oval,we do not need to disolve car counts anymore than there are, dropping a class adds to car counts in the other classes so it helps.

My only change  i've mentioned is what the past expert/fast guy racers would prefer that have supported the expert class past 4-5 years would like to see happen, and open truck up to all,so few guy's could run once ,twice a year.
I'm sure hoping this year the GP club does proxy voting and only the racers that support oval pan can racing vote on  changes,if any.
Whatever changes if any i'll still be supporting gp club for the 18th year.
I sincerely want whats best to try and get car counts back up in the oval classes.

Going to kill sk?  Why would that happen when its entry count has outperformed 13.5 ramped?  Last year by over 10 entries and this year it is only behind 3 entries compared to last years 13.5 ramped at this time.  Numbers suggest stick with what makes car count and grow that.  Maybe go rubber tire on sk to liven it up a bit or slow them down or speed them up whatever you do stick where the numbers are.  As much as I like fast classes they are not that great for entries. Just some things to consider before killing a class that outperformed another in participation because you want to go faster.

Sk is most likely going to go away for next year- so that leaves more guy's/car class count to go up. which is the expert class- 2017 by going back to 13.5 boosted in the expert class car counts are going to go back up like the past.
13.5 spec and truck are fine except change to 4 minutes for truck, i'm only referring to the expert class, the 10.5 no boost was a complete failed experiment.
Go back to 13.5 boosted which again is a nationally known and supported class around the country,
expert GP drivers we have the power to do what's in the best interest in our class, and not be fooled by another group that don';t support the expert class.
Truck and stock are just fine-except to open truck to expert guy's to allow a race or two during the year so they choose.
Let the GP oval club expert guy's decide on what's best for the expert class in oval, talking with the past guy's we all want to go back to boosted 13.5 in the expert class, once again only talking abut the fast guy/expert class driver's at gp club, that have supported the expert class for many years.
If another club runs 10.5 no boost in their club great and they have the support great, but please GP expert guy's let us have our class the way we want it without the influence of another club deciding our expert class.
I'll being supporting the GP oval for the 18th year regardless of motor/esc rules,i just want what's best for our club, and what ive heard from other GP expert guy's past and present.

Or did you mean taking 10.5 to ramped 13.5 and leaving 13.5 blinky alone?  Even then numbers were not that good for ramped. We should concentrate on fixing the entry count in sk!  There were more entries in sk last year than 13.5 ramped.  This year the count is hurting In sk.

Well Before we get all opinionated now lets check numbers..... last years car count at this time.... for 17.5 foam (21) 13.5 ramped (21).  This year's 17.5 rubber tire truck (38)  13.5 nationwide (28).....Last years total (52), this years total (66).   That's (18) entries better than last year.  As you can see numbers do not lie, the current package has improved turnouts and not killed anything.  It appears to be working pretty well considering 2 drivers from 13.5 ramped last year have stopped racing entirely this year.  10.5 on the other hand has not performed as expected.  Therefore we should look into how to make it as successful as the other two classes.

As far as what the rest of the country does......who cares that's carpet!  They don't do rubber tire truck either lol.

Here at P1 Raceway, we are open to suggestions on classes but we will not return to ramping.

See you guys on the 11th with my 13.5 nationwide car!

To all the GP regular expert oval fast guy racers- We need to vote on putting 13.5 boosted back as it should be for the expert class, going to the 10.5 no boost pretty much killed the class for this season. Going back to boosted 13.5 does a few things.
 1. 13.5 boosted is the next class up from the stock 13.5 class,it's a natural transition, with only a body change and setting motors-esc up for boosted. There';s no secret esc settings, once i set my esc it never saw a change for over 4 years.
2. Most allready have open 13.5 motors and are familiar with this.
3. Going back to boosted 13.5 helps hook the cars up a little better, without losing any speed, the 10.5 no boost has alot more bottom and with our type of surfaces makes for some a challenge, the softer initial hit with the boosted 13.5 helps guy's overall.
4. 13.5 boosted is a nationally known class with 10.5 no boost  it is not.
5. Going back to 13.5 boosted as i've spoke with all the past racers are more than happy to vote for the change as it' is going to go back to being a premier fast class, and i've been told by the other racers they would go back to supporting the change, which is going to help with car count.
Please add this to the voting this coming year to go back to boosted 13.5 in the expert class, and do away with the non supporting 10.5 rule change that has happened this year, and ruined the class.
