I doubt we'll do anything Monday night since you won't be the only one watching the outlaws. We are closed on Mondays anyhow.

Racers we are really shooting to have our first dirt oval race THIS Friday Sept 7th @ 7pm. We should be 100% done and ready to go. If not, we may have a test n tune on Friday night with the first actual race on Sunday the 9th starting around 11. We will not be racing oval the weekend of the 15th due to the Best of the West series Finale in Bakersfield CA. We will be back to racing every Friday night starting Sept 21st!!! Thank you for all of your support!

Latest pic after another coat and a few more things checked off the to do list.

Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App

Tim thanks again for all the tips! I think we still need one more real good shot of sealer after the one we put on today. Hope your race went well this weekend! See you soon!!!

Hopper, looks great, about 2 more coats of that sealer and the spotty shines will go away, it will all have a nice even shine, once it sets for a couple days, give it a quick light coat of water and it will all gel up and come to a super shine with sick bite.......just remeber, rule of thumb with this S*** is even on your off weeks hit it with a quick light coat of water, if it goes for to many weeks with no water it will start to turn to dust..... We are super excited at rattlesnake and cant wait to come run, I'm feeling a Nor Cal sealed oval tri track challenge brewing!!!!!!!!!!!! Dirt Oval is comin alive and kickin ass Nor Cal style......You guys did a super job on that track Hopper.....If it goes roundy round then I'm down!!!!!!!!

its hooked up too!   hopper did some test laps last night for demonsrtration for off -roaders and it looked great will nedd some fine tuning to surface but it came out nice

the guy with the skip- loader did an amazing job, drivers stand and pipes go in this week. also F-1 style concrete curbing around both apexes with red and white paint (i think)

angles; (big j guess-ti-mate) in turns 15-17 deg. banking,  back straght ; 8deg.  front straight is about 3 deg.  so down the back straight youre car wont dissapear behind a competitor as you are grinding your teeth flat trying to beat him to the corner

1 st. coat of sealer is being applied as i type this post , it smells like ponderosa pine bark and looks like it too on the surface .its comming together fast , and looks to be a fast surface as well , this dirt has a good amount of clay in it and it packed really nice

Watch for anouncment of a "test and tune" day comming up THIS WEEK!!!!!!

Jason absolute hobbies carries the 2 novarossi engines, tower has the o.s. and Amain has the losi 350. We can get you a losi 350 if thats what you want to go with. We can also get the spec pipe you will need to run.

You def need to buy the spec edm body. they are unfortunetly kind of a pain to get sometimes. Here is the website for the cdk edm bodies. Im not sure why but the body we will be running is not on their website. You can call and tell them you want a best of the west spec edm body.

You can also email Matt Murphy from Murfdogg motorworks as I believe he may have some avail for purchase as well. Here is his contact info...

Glad to see you will be coming out to run some oval again Jason its gonna be a blast. You won't believe how fast they are going now on the sealed tracks!

Buttercup, Butch, and Jeff thanks for all the help answering questions!

Randy I like the workshop idea. Lots of fast guys around here that would be more than happy to help out some newer guys. Its easy to get lost trying to get your oval gear since its not as mainstream as offroad. I suggest people go to www.dirtoval.com as well and check their forums out. Every manufacturer has a thread and factory guys can answer questions as well. We should have our own drc speedway thread on there very soon.

Some action on the oval is a definite possibility by next weekend!

thanks i posted all the motors from the delta rules. was not wanting to put a losi motor in my rc8.

but that looks like what i will be ordering. i figured they would know where to get these motors since there were only 4 to chose from. and are in the rules.

i would like to add to "big head"s earlier post , the interest in oval again @ delta has turned alot more heads than some of may think , i am as most of you know an off-road guy and all i hear i the pits on off-raod nights is 'what class you gonna run ?" a lot of newbies will be giving this a try for the first time . not to mention the rookie class should be fairly big i think its a little easier for the kids to get around an oval than off road , and the return of some ol' oval drivers from back in the day , myself included

i personally have helped 1 guy set his family up with 3- 2wd SC/LM 's for the new track and know of at least 2 more familys that will be doing the same for thier kids as well

i know most of you dont know it , but Butch Clay CAN NOT stop smiling

so,.. some of you oval vets need not be suprised if you see a lot of new faces in you're pits lookin' for help and tips .......gonna be like old times on friday night
