THANKS BUTCH FOR THAT EXPLANATION ON HOW MUCH HARD WORK TO KEEP R/C TRACKS PREPPED TO RACE ON. A BIG THANK YOU GOES TO JOE REYES FOR HIS THANKLESS JOB, THERE ARE 99% ELECTRIC CARS OUT THERE AND THEY HOOK UP MUCH BETTER THEN NITRO CARS. ELECTRIC R/C CARS ARE THE FUTURE, WE WILL HAVE TO BRING THEM BACK WHEN THE INDOOR OPENS UP IN NOVEMBER, OR WAIT AND SEE WHATS UP. ANYWAY I`LL HAVE TO COME AND PLAY WITH MY SPORTS MOD

Butch, would we run our Auburn ( Outlaw) Sprint cars or a version of our foam tire cars with a 13.5 and off road tires with trans or DD ?

Hey gang, the reason Joe cancelled yesterday was because the track surface would not cooperate and it was a mess. This dirt has been problematic to maintain and Joe puts in a ton of time, he was very frustrated yesterday. So I am lobbying with Joe to basically run the track as a loose dirt type track on rubber tires with minimal track prep. I suggested this last year but he was reluctant to change anything so we didn't run. Joe seemed a little more receptive to it yesterday. My reasoning for this is:
  • Sealing is not an option, the dirt is too finicky and it is very expensive to do.
  • The dirt doesn't really "stick" to itself so getting a smooth track surface is tricky and maybe just chance if it happens.
  • More than half the classes we run are rubber tired cars anyway, Sport Mod, Pro Mod, B Mod, Street Stock and the 13.5 trucks would convert no problem.
  • I think a 17.5 direct drive sprint car could be geared to run offroad tires.
  • The nitro cars may have to sit this one out, but we only have a couple that would run Friday nights anyway.
  • It's either this or nothing, which is what we had last summer.
I know there's only about 3 people that actually read this thread, but what do you think?

BUTCH DENNIS SCHNEIDER AND ERIC VASUTIN WILL BE THERE ON 5/5/17.
17.5 SPRINT CAR. LET'S HEAR FROM THE REST OF YOU "DIRTOVAL" GUYS.
JOE BUSTES HIS ASS SO WE CAN HAVE A GOOD TRACK TO RACE ON
I DON'T DRIVE A REAL CAR ANY MORE SO I CAN'T MAKE IT ALL THE TIME, BUT I WOULD
IF I COULD.
SO LET'S HAVE A ROLL CALL.

Hey Dirt Oval guys, let's get them out! Joe did an excellent job of track prep for last Friday, but all we did was practice due to low turnout. How about a roll call for next Friday! We need to support our track!
