Nitro Sedans are very welcome anytime!  I would love to run mine more!  Let's get it going!  This weekend would be perfect because we could use it as a warm up for the upcoming 24 minutes of Nitro Sedan on Aug. 3!  post up if you want to burn some nitro so I can make sure to get my car ready!  Art has one too!

Just want to thank the P1 guys for having the race.  Great traction and a fun track to run on.  If you wern't there you would have missed my idiotness in great fashion.  It has been a couple of years since I have gone to another track other then the GP races and had nothing to do but race.  This particular day I got a chance to go somewhere and just race.  I brought 3 vehicles and everything for them except 1 small thing, the lipo sack that has all of my batteries for racing in it.  Left it right there on my work bench at home.  Didn't realize it until setting everything up in my pit and when I went to get my charger out I had realized my huge mistake.  Luckly my friend Brian Gilson had 2 extra sitting in his bag and Ray Fulmer let me barrow one of his son's for my slash ( Really it is my cousins slash since I refuse to by one for myself ). So although I should just be praising the P1 guys for a great race expierence, I have to give a huge thanks to my fellow racer/friends Brian and Ray.  Oh and I beat them with the batteries they provided me.

Matt Senn

PS Are you guys going to post results?

That's a very nice looking track and it's a much better turnaround drive for me than speedworld.  Is there a nitro class?

Thanks guys!  We are racing again this upcoming Saturday July 26th!  We hope to see everyone up!

We are going to try something that will keep the excitement going and make racing interesting here at P1 Raceway: Featured Classes with a twist!

We will rotate through all of our main classes here and pick one oval and one roadcourse class as our featured classes every raceday!  The kick is that these featured classes will receive payouts!  $50 for P1, $20 for P2, $10 for P3!  Payouts will be via check after tech inspection is completed (and the car passes) when racing is over for the day.

Bullet points:

  • This week's Featured Classes are 17.5 Non Ramped Sedan and 17.5 Non Ramped Nascar Oval!
  • ROAR rules are 100% in effect for all classes.  Interesting to note here for the Nascar guys that are using a Castle Mamba 1 cell-software version MUST be v1.26.  This will be checked.  We have a castle PC link here if you would like assistance with loading the correct software!
  • ROAR Non-Timing ESC List is here: http://roarracing.com/approved_non_timing_escs.php
  • ROAR Motors and Batteries are here: http://roarracing.com/approvals.php
  • Tech will operate for all of the top three in the featured classes and randomly through other classes.
  • AMB/Mylaps transponders required.  We have not yet updated our decoder so MRT transponders are still working.
  • Blake and I are not eligible for payouts.  Example: Let's say that one of us wins a featured class.  The guy that got second will get the P1 payout and 3rd would get the p2 payout etc.
  • All other classes welcome!  This includes but is not limited to: 13.5 Ramped Oval, 17.5 Street Stock Oval, F1, Tamiya TCS Mini Coopers, Modified Sedan (yes, we tested it yesterday!), Vintage Trans-am, Traxxas Spec Rally and more!  4 makes a class!

Spread the word guys!  Lets get it going!

Any questions feel free to post up!  If I think of anything that I missed I'll make sure to post it up here!

Tire wear was minimal.  I ran some Team Powers 34 (I think, could be 32) that I ran one other race on last year and the seams are still visible.

My Oval car on foams had very little wear on Lilacs (38 shore)

As promised, Here's some pics!

Blake came up with a dialed combo oval/roadcourse layout!  Good door-to-door action all night in all Classes!  Traction was perfect on the new surface.  We only had to lay down about 6 of the 30 bottles of RC Cola (of course ;-P ) we had on hand!

Everyone got plenty of practice!

The oval cars were hooked up instantly.  We were flat footing around the whole track from the first practice session!

Awesome Sunset.

RCFIA Winners!  Arthur Knight-P1, Matt Yapelli-P2, Gordon Hedemark-P3!

Blake is working on concrete curbing and infield as I type this!  What you're seeing here is only the beginning!

We are also working on a full schedule that will be posted soon!

Saturday was hot, and so was the racing. The 17.5 NR onroad was sick. Doug was in the zone setting a blistering pace and his car was rails. Congrats Doug on you win.

The F1 turn out was weak and fun even though I broke at the two minute mark and ran the rest of the race with the right front steering only. Way to go Art.

Top it off with the spec rally guy's and their monster air off the jumps, it was a fun day/night race. Thank you for a fun day of racing Blake and Joe.

Gordon.

If I had an onroad car, I'd be there sight unseen, because I know those guys always put in a strong effort to make the racers happy. They've been around a long time and know how to build a racy track.  Hmm, maybe I'll build a car.
