Thanks.

Hobbytown is responsible for posting their own results to the forum.  It looks like the last race they posted was on 4-23-16.  I will mention to them that they are behind.

The reminder for the GT Tire rule, was just an FYI to the people thinking about racing this weekend in USGT, to know that we are running open tire

Thank you for the info...Side note, out this way, we're already running the gravity tires with 21.5's and cars weighing 1450 grams.

They are still in talks about when to switch over to MYLAPS. It wont be right away, but as I said in a previous post, there are people who have extra Ilaps transponders they can lend out.  I have 3 extra I can let people borrow.

We should have a good turnout for this weekends club race. We have a couple 17.5 heavy hitters possibly going to come out.  The fast nitro guys will be there as well.  Come on out guys.. you wont regret it!

(remember, this is the last race for open tire rule for USGT class, starting june, will be gravity RC tires)
correction. The last race for open tire in USGT will be Saturday 5-28-16. Which is the last series race

Hobbytown will be changing the Sedan class names to a combined name, and announced as such during the race days. This should help alleviate the confusion for out of town racers

GT1 / Mod
GT2 / 17.5
GT3 / USGT

I went to there track this past Saturday. The track is gorgeous!...The last time I went there, we raced for a series Norcal was sponsoring. The track was NICE then but it's definitely much nicer now.I didn't bring my stuff to practice/race unfortunately but I'm looking forward to going again...Maurice brought up excellent points about the classes they run.The titles are confusing not to mention the lap counting system is not what we're use to but hopefully they'll change that soon as well. You guys have done an excellent job on the track though.Well done!

We had a great turnout this last saturday. A & B mains for 17.5 & Nitro sedan. Full heats of 21.5 sedan, F1, Mod, VTA.

The Traction was really good all day.  Ran 36's all day in 17.5 & 21.5, with minimal tire wear.

This next weekend will be a club Race, but still expect a good turnout for all classes.

The following Saturday the 28th will be a series race again. This will be the last series race for the current series..  Starting in June we will be switching the 21.5 GT glass to the USGT spec tire, and 1380G weight.

Hey Guys this track has been around for a few years now.
I have done the night summer series 2 years ago and had a blast heading back home now and then. Hobby town has been working hard on their program and have a crew that wants you to have a good time when you go. I helped them get a good scoring program and spent a day with them when they did. two weeks later they where showing me things with the program that I have not seen. The one man that has put in many hours (Brian Rush) was the guy that showed me how to drive RC cars 30+ years ago. and he works on the track every weekend, Kevin J might be the closest person to come to mind for the hours he puts in.
Yes 3 years ago the track was a bit rough and small now it has a painted track and curbing going in. They have pounded and grounded out parts of the track. NO its not the OLD Nor-Cal but no place is. Its a parking lot that's been worked on many hours and its has paid  off for them. they been able to run 1/12 scale outdoors. The Bite is good and not a tire eater, i run One YES 1 set of powers 34 for 4 race days in the night series.
they run I laps transponder but like Nick stated they are working on AMB soon
I know that they are looking into getting the northern TCS races sometime in the next year or two.
Food is close by
hotels not to far away or I might be able to get my Brothers place for a night for a few

We will get more pictures this weekend.

I appreciate your comments. I agree with all of them as well.

We are working on making the switch to MYLAPS system. We already have a decoder that was lent to us indefinitely. It's just getting all the locals to switch over. If you're able to convince people to come race. We will do our best to have extra transponders to loan out at least one to each driver.   If we plan a big race we will definitely have the MYLAPS system running for that.

The traction level is much better since they resurfaced the track. It's not a normal seal coat. I'm not sure what they did this time. But traction is very manageable. The nitro guys are really enjoying the extra room and extra traction.

As far as the class names. Not sure those will be changed anytime soon for our local program. If we do hold a larger organized race. We will make sure the classes use the more common class names. Mod, 17.5, usgt etc

ive personally raced at quite a few of the well know california onroad tracks. Tamiya raceway. Old norcal hobbies. Ripon.

And I can honestly say. Once this track is finished. It will be on par with all of those tracks.

The new layout looks much better than it did when I came down from S.F. to run my Serpent 747e. The old layout was fun but was a little tight for cars with a ton of horsepower. I will try to talk more norcal racers to come down to Fresno. I have some suggestions to help attract more racers to Fresno:

1) Switch over to Mylaps/AMD timing system. Almost no one will show up from outside of Fresno with transponders compatible with your current system. I did not have enough time when I was there to swap my loaner transponder into a different car. I think I had 30 seconds of warmup for the nitro main event.

2) Consider raising the level of grip to a new level with VHT.

3) There are racers that are not familiar with Tamiya racing classes. Lets call the Modified class "Mod", the 17.5 class "17.5" and the 21.5 class "USGT or VTA". I struggled with that all day when I was there.

Please don't take my suggestions as overly critical. I had a fun day of racing in Fresno and I enjoyed meeting fellow rc racers and hanging out with Carlos. If you want to attract racers from outside of Fresno this is what I would do.
