We had 62 entries today. Not a bad turnout for Memorial Day weekend. Had some real good racing in all classes but especially in 17.5, USGT, and nitro again. The winner of USGT ran the Gravity RC spec tires and they seemed to work pretty well. Good enough to take the win today against everyone else running open tires.

Traction was very good all day. I ran my old set of sorex 36s in practice and the first heat. They had great traction but was a few tenths off of Jaron Bandy. So decided to finally open up a new set for the second heat and dropped half a second. Car actually had less grip over all but was more consistant. (But I did have 8 race days on my year old set). So I guess it was time.

We have a week off of racing next weekend. Some of the guys will be installing curbing in a few of the corners.

Saturday the 11th will be a club race and the first night race of the season

Saturday the 18th will be the first summer series race.

Remember, USGT will be on the Gravity RC spec tire staring in June. Hopefully some of you guys can make it out.

Dont worry about grip level guys.. The grip is good. Its not high bite, but traction is very consistent all day long.. I ran a year old set of 36s (with 6-8 race days on them) even when the track was cool in the morning. Never struggled for lack of grip. In fact grip increased as it got warmer, I think my car was a little over stuck in the main. Im tempted to try 40s this next weekend.

Bumps are very minimal on the track. There is a small bump getting onto the straight, but unless you're running your car super low, you wont have any issue getting thru that section.. Im running my sedan at 5-5.2mm and have zero issues. My car hasnt had as much as a twitch over it.

Compared to where we came from, this track is Very good guys.. you will be pleasantly surprise.  The surface will never be like the old norcal surface, we have to remember this started out as a parking lot.  Norcal had fresh asphalt.  Brian Rush has put countless hours into fixing, and smoothing the surface. Its very very good compared to the first track layout we had 3 years ago.

We do have a big nitro class.  But our 17.5 and USGT classes are big as well.. the difference is almost all the nitro guys come out on club race weekends, but we sometimes lose half our USGT and 17.5 guys between series race and club race weekends.. We still had full heats of both classes, we just didnt have A and B mains, like this last weekend.

It was another fun filled weekend in Fresno.  This is one of the few permanent tracks in California where the nitro class is the dominant class. The nitro class in Fresno is no joke. I even ran into Thello....jeez!  I thought he moved to Vegas and stopped racing or went where rc racers go to die....1/5 scale. The track flows but is a little bumpy especially the approach to the straightaway and traction is good but not great. A big thanks to all the Fresno guys for making the drive down worth it. It's a sealed surface with soda spray so don't expect Norcal VHT grip levels.

Tim and Morees showed up.

The mini class is kinda hit and miss even for series races. We had a couple for the series race last weekend.

I told the race director that he was behind in posting race results. So he should be getting those updated soon.
