dont be whining when nobody shows up  another class gets killed off
just like the others
you  guys dont get it  you make it too expensive to have fun  so no new racers will join.
do you want to grow the sport or kill it off?   just keep spending costs reasonable

otherwise no body can compete with that  racers want to have fun  as soon as it gets too expensive they drop out.

Thread about slowing down a class turns into everyone who wins must be cheating.... That took a quick turn.

This topic goes both ways, if the class goes 25.5 you will loose people as well that want 21.5.  I just got a new F1 and don't want to sell it already.

anytime you have prohibition, aka spec
you create a black market, aka cheat
this leads guys that follow the spec having small chance to be competitive, aka win
then guys feel they need to buy handtuned engines and hot lihv batts,  aka money
now spec racing gets real expensive , aka racer stop racing
defeating the purpose of the spec to begin with, aka cost effective and fair level competiton

bottom line  don't matter what turn motor you select as not all motors are equal and there will always be racers tweaking spec

so if you are trying to make the class fair and even
have handout BL and esc that gets teched for the class or series and marked
make sure tires are same and batts are same and charged same rates.  have tech at every heat  otherwise  run the class open then the limiting factor is the tires and the weight. and thats all that anyone has to purchase and tech.  thats fair

that’s strange Edmund. I built my car. Ran the same setup at Norcal/WSR/Carpet with minimal to no change. Sounds like you over complicated things. Cheapest and easiest class IMO. It’s a drivers class though........

I was in. Then I got out. F1 chassis looks simple, but then it's not easy to set it right. The tires, the wings, alu chassis, ball diff.... sum up to be quite a costly class and not easy to do well.  In other words, motor speed is not the major growing barrier for this class.

Ask me two years ago, probably would have said no way to 25.5. But gotta admit, the latest gen 21.5 motors are super fast. The new people who try are quitting at a faster rate (F1 still shouldn't be considered a beginner class). Class is not as big as it used to be, maybe 25.5 may fix that.
