I thought that I would be able to make to the track today.  But I will not be able to make it. I had asked for two set of the 1/12 scale tires. If you still have two sets left please send me a email so I can get them from you.

Thanks again Tim. I know some have complained about this opportunity to change things to help bolster attendance. I know this has been the case at alot of the other tracks that have decided to go SPEC tire and now everyone there wished they had done it sooner.

I should see them by Friday next week. if so and since most of us are in the Bay area i might be able to do a group meet and hand out tires on Saturday
Sunday I will be up in the area of 680 and 80 just before Fairfield if people want to meet there.

If every likes this after the 9th we should be able to order more
there are a few that I have not heard from
I would ask for Paypal upfront but not going to do that for now

I hope that the support that showing for this means we going to have a great turnout of 1/12
on the 9th

Ok so far 27 sets spoken for
you can use any of the 4 brands of spec tire if you can find them
BSR blue stripe
CRC purple stripe
JFT Blue stripe
Pro One Purple stripe
All these are a lilic type compound form tire
If you have any of those type use them
As I have stated lets try this its not the rule as of yet
that up to Aaron to make it spec
if you can find them else ware for less let me know
I'm not making money off these
it cost me 17.94 a set of front and rear
Add tax and shipping for 30 sets I'm at 19.73
a set so I'm making 27 cents a sale
Seattle is 20 buck a set JFT
Rose scale in portland area is at 25.00 a set for the BSR
can't touch CRC for less then 23+ a set
only thing bad is they come as a set of front and rear
I can't order 30 fronts and 20 rears as of yet
this 30sets is out of my pocket upfront and most of you know I been
out of work with my leg since Oct 16th so its a crunch for me
Trever will be getting a few sets of my own PRO One Spec tires I have
as he has the pro one axle setup
John H might be also unless he finds his axle
i have CRC and one or two sets of BSR and a lot of pro ones (brought him out of his spec tires as I was running his setup)
We have tested these up in Seattle back to back between JFT,CRC and BSR
just make sure to check front axle space only a washer off between each
a few even tried a BSR right front and rear and CRC left side of car and felt no
tweek in car, one guy had a jft and crc front on and felt no bad issuse with setup

Resistance is futile.

Tim brought it up,started a dialogue offline with a bunch of people including myself. It got traction and so it looks like a majority of guys want to go that direction. Nothing more. It's a "needs of the many" type of thing. Capisce?

It doesn’t sound like this was a discussion thread more or less this is what you decided to do thread. We all know what tires work. We figured that out the first season of 209. Those color combos are available mostly anywhere. So I guess put me down for two sets.

I like the spec idea (tires). I do have a 1/12 scale. Stock (is it 17.5?) should be spec tires, spec motor, and spec esc. Open chassis. This alllllllmost makes me want to race 1/12 scale but cannot due to work. I'll build a 1/12 anyways.

@racenut... I know you have more than 2 cents to share, haha~!

Same boat as you Josh. But I think it's a better idea to move on to SPEC. Better for the beginner not having to source and try different combos. I am not worried about the tires I currently have if it will make it easier for everyone to get on the same page and ease of participation for all. my 2 cents.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about the spec tire last year by Tim and other forums. I do believe it is the way to go moving forward. I also think that let this be that year to be the transition over to those tires. Let us who have tires use what we have then make next year mandatory.

Just so every one knows Josh and I talked about this before I posted

he's not the only one there are a few other  ( I for one have many tires at home )

And to state Again it's not mandatory to run the spec tire

for this race.

I did not think I would get this much response

The Main idea came to me as I received a PM from

a new driver and also seen that Ryan and Nick from Visalia

are thinking of getting 1/12 scale.

The PM is from a new driver and has lot of Question

main one is what Tire to run and how to know the right

combos. this was before Ryan posted and asked about tires

the new guy seen the response and was ready to pull the plug

on his new car order. I PM him back and we talked a bit and

I think I was able to keep him interested. After I looked at

the post and seen that there was 3 combos posted I decided

to bring this up.

Two years ago we had 23 guys running 1/12 scale one day

then when some figure out the right combo before others the other

gave up. A spec tire will level the field and they last longer then the

Blue/Green/dbl Blue/XM/XH tire type

Also a new driver will have more help with setup
