Small world! I was born in West Islip, and lived in various areas around Long Island until I was about 10. I was thinking this is predominately a SF Bay Area / South Bay board so I thought you were local embarassed.

Good luck .... Bruce

Same deal - find a track you want to race at, then pick a class. No use buying a race vehicle if you can't race it.

Might want to post your location so people can suggest a track.

If you are going to race, I don't think Truggy is a popular class - I've never seen one locally. If you like that kind of vehicle, short course ( SCT ) is very popular and would have a class at most tracks.

Find a track local to you and go out to a race. If you are in San Jose, go out to Norcal Hobbies and talk to the racers, they have a pretty active SCT group. Check their web site for the racing schedule.

Pick a vehicle that is supported locally - you can get parts and set up advice that way.

Good Luck!!

Bruce
