I know that Norcal can order these and offer the same price too.I still think sensored is the way to go.The sensorless system is ok and inexpesive but 79 dollars is hard to beat and you can run up to a 10.5 motor with the citrix without any worries. Why limit wht the speed control can run?
Really?

OK   I ran at Cap RC yesterday,.,  the esc and motor held up nicely  the temps got (150) up so I dropped a tooth .

23/82 in my ultima db.

The track was pretty hot inside.. around 100   but the system held up quite nicely.

I am testing this combo   sensorless..  theres no cogging andno motor control unit either.  The only reason we chose this was that a sensored unit has a control board with bitty magnets on it... if a drivers repeatedly over heats up his motor these go bad.. sensorless no.

I would do the Speed passion pairing thats sensored.About the same price if not a bit cheaper.Sensorless is going backwards at this point.I know the system you are running Steve and I think the Speedpassion stuff although made by Hobbywing, would be the better option at the same pricepoint.Just another suggestion.
Really?

I have been running hobbywing products in pretty much every car/truck that I have. I got tired of replacing VXL esc's. They are beautiful performing products, and We run them for probably 30-40 hours a week. maybe more. We run 1 pack after another with no cool down for 5 hours at a time. They definitely hold up. Once we get my track fully completed, we will have rental cars and they will all be powered by hobbywing brushless kits. I've been working on becoming a dealer for them, but it's hard to find a distributor. Once we start carying parts in stock, I will definitely keep a few of each size and type on hand.

hobbywing makes speed passion as well as many others, like venom, and a few more. Us companys buy hobbywing stuff, throw there name on it and charge 3 times as much. Ive been an advocated for a long time have even mention them to a bunch of people, nobody seemed to be interested. Now Tsurudas got one I am sure it will perk up much interested.

I ran a 5.5 with a 60A in a b44 and it was crazyyyyy fast! mkozo80@yahoo.com

Test and tune this combo at Cap City tonight..  Ill have data to share.  right now in my SCdb  the final gear ratio is 8.88   works great and clears back triple to spare   It has more oomph than my 8.5,,  go figure.  no cogging at all  I will get another unit and try it in my road course car.

This is to get some feedback on spec non rampingesc and motor combos.

Yesterday we tested the hobbywing/Speedpassion esc and motor in my Kyosho short course desert buggy.  We used the 60a esc and 13t / 3000kv motor.

The truck took lots of gearing and would easily clear the back triple with room  to spare.  I was running with a few mod buggies and was able to keep up on the straight..actually popped wheelies.  I kept throwing more gearing at it until I got the motor to run at 120 degrees.. and it kept pulling.

the best thing is that the motor and esc are under $100!!!

the motor is non sensored and virtually impossible to cheat with.(no control board and the stator is impossible to remove without damaging it, the shroud is laser etched with the motor wind)

Lets hear from you racers  if you would be interested in a brushless combo for under $100 bucks.that is for club racing..  we can have the track order up a few maybe even get some sort of discount.,

I can see this working as a direct replacement for SC RTR's since the come with a variety of motors,  also can be used as a spec tc/buggy/truck/f1, mini and sportsman .  It will help racers get into the sport that want more punch than an rtr motor.

No Ramping but it does come with a mini setup programmer where you can adjust many functions including timing, punch and  fw/rev/brake

These are not dogs they work pretty good..I'd even run it in open sc since it has torque and a smooth powerband.  These are killer.. forget the 150$ esc and the $80 bl motor. these rock!

lets hear what your thoughts are.
